Please share & subscribe! YOU MIGHT NEVER PASS THIS WAY AGAIN....
Butchering a bowhead whale is a deeply spiritual part of the Inuit culture here in Northern
Alaska. They believe that the whale gives itself to them to sustain the community. It is a deeply spiritual belief and when the harvesting of the whale happens, nothing goes to waste and it is totally shared with everyone. The people here have a good sense of community and really provide for their elders and those who have less and cannot manage for themselves. They share with everyone, this feast.
I invite you to try to understand the people, the situation and the nature of living in one the most Northern and isolated regions of remote Alaska.
Recently Kamau Bell of United Shades of America came to Barrow to begin to understand. I suggest to check out his show United Shades and the episode, The Last Frontier. READ BELOW for more info on Barrow.
320 miles north of the arctic circle lies the most northern city in the United States, the 11th most northern public community in the world and the small rural northern Alaska city known as Barrow.
Stay tuned and be sure to subscribe and share so you don't miss out on the rare opportunity to see what is going on at the top of the world!
YOU MAY NEVER PASS THIS WAY AGAIN.....
I'm quite certain I'll bring you lots of amazing things you won't see in many places.

This film (narrated in English) presents the epic journey of bowhead whales as they make their annual migration across the Bering, Chukchi, and Beaufort Seas. The film takes its narrative and title from the 2013 calendar edited by Steve Okkonen. The vision for this film is to improve public understanding of the iconic bowhead whales and their role in the Pacific Arctic marine ecosystem.
The film explores whale taxonomy, physiology, diet, behaviors, and their widespread movement through Subarctic and Arctic waters. Other topics include the study of the whales through ongoing tagging and aerial observation programs, and the extensive body of traditional knowledge gathered and sustained by the indigenous whaling peoples.

Creature Report - Showing the amazing facts about the Bowhead Whale
The Octonauts are an adventure team who explore the world’s oceans, rescue the creatures who live there and protect their habitats – above and below the waves (from the rainforests of the Amazon to the deepest depths of the Midnight Zone).
Captain Barnacles Bear, ex-pirate Kwazii Cat, medic Peso Penguin and the rest of the crew fearlessly dive into action, deploying a fleet of aquatic vehicles, including their Octopus-shaped home-base, the Octopod.
Based on the richly imaginative books by Meomi, this sci-fi animated series combines immersive visuals and submersive humor to transport young children into a world that is both real and fantastic, full of mysteries to unravel and surprises around every corner.
