Bonnie Lynn Raitt (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues singer, songwriter and slide guitar player. During the 1970s, Raitt released a series of roots-influenced albums which incorporated elements of blues, rock, folk and country. In 1989 after several years of critical acclaim but little commercial success she had a major return to public prominence with the release of her album Nick of Time. The following two albums Luck of the Draw (1991) and Longing in Their Hearts (1994) were also multi-million sellers generating several hit singles, including "Something to Talk About", "Love Sneakin' Up on You", and the ballad "I Can't Make You Love Me" (with Bruce Hornsby on piano). Raitt has received 10 Grammy Awards. She is listed as number 50 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time and number 89 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
Early life
Raitt was born in Burbank, California. She is the daughter of Broadway musical star John Raitt and his first wife, pianist Marjorie Haydock, and was raised in the Quaker tradition. She began playing guitar at an early age. Later she gained notice for her bottleneck-style guitar playing. Raitt says she played "a little at school and at [a summer] camp" called Camp Regis-Applejack in New York.
Bonnie Raitt is the self-titled debut album by Bonnie Raitt, released in 1971 (see 1971 in music). A straight-blues affair, it was recorded at an empty summer camp on Enchanted Island, about 30 miles west of Minneapolis on Lake Minnetonka. "We recorded live on four tracks because we wanted a more spontaneous and natural feeling in the music", Raitt wrote in the album's liner notes, "a feeling often sacrificed when the musicians know they can overdub their part on a separate track until it's perfect."
Though album sales were modest, Bonnie Raitt was warmly received by rock critics. "[A]n unusual collection of songs performed by an unusual assortment of musicians", wrote Rolling Stone. "Raitt is a folkie by history but not by aesthetic", wrote Robert Christgau in his Consumer Guide column. "She includes songs from Steve Stills, the Marvelettes, and a classic feminist blues singer named Sippie Wallace because she knows the world doesn't end with acoustic song-poems and Fred McDowell. An adult repertoire that rocks with a steady roll, and she's all of twenty-one years old."
"You Love Me?" is a 2015 song by Melissa Steel featuring Wretch 32. It was first dropped on SoundCloud on 8 July 2015 and will be released on 18 September 2015. A music video was produced for the song which features both Steel and Wretch. Critical reception for the song was positive.
Background
The song was performed by Melissa Steel and features a guest verse by Wretch 32. It features production by Darkchild, which Steel said was an honour owing to her listening to his hits as a youngster and many of them inspiring her to become a singer. The song was also co-written by Sam Romans. The song was dropped on 8 July 2015 on SoundCloud and released on September 11. It discusses a boyfriend who is obviously in love with his girlfriend but has not yet made a proclamation to that effect.
Music video
A music video was created for the song. Both Steel and 32 sing/rap on the track. It features water fights, roof down convertible car rides and dancing in the sun. It was shot in Pink Motel in Los Angeles, and was directed by Max & Dania.
"Love, Me" is a song written by Skip Ewing and Max T. Barnes, and recorded by American country music artist Collin Raye. It was released in October 1991 as the second single from the album All I Can Be. In January 1992, the single became Raye's first Number One single on the U.S. BillboardHot Country Singles & Tracks charts; the same year, the song received a Song of the Year nomination from the Country Music Association. The single has been cited as a popular choice for funerals.
Content
"Love, Me" is a ballad in the key of C major, accompanied by electric piano and steel-string acoustic guitar. It tells of a couple who promise to love each other. The song's narrator tells of being with his grandfather, and reading a note that was written by his grandmother back when both grandparents were younger. The grandfather explains that he had intended to meet her at a certain tree: "If you get there before I do, don't give up on me / I'll meet you when my chores are through, I don't know how long I'll be / But I'm not gonna let you down, darling, wait and see / And between now and then, 'til I see you again, I'll be loving you / Love, me." In the second verse, the narrator and his grandfather are at a church where they stopped to pray just before the grandmother died, and the grandfather reads the note and begins to cry, that is the first time that he saw his grandfather crying.
Love Me (Chinese:千面女孩) is Korean popstress Lee Jung Hyun's debut Mandarin studio album and her eighth album release. It was released on 11 March 2008 by Ocean Butterflies International. The album features "千面女孩" (Girl With a Thousand Faces), composed by Yoon Il Sang, and the Chinese cover of "A Perfect Man's Code" and songs from her 2006 K-pop album Fantastic Girl.
