Bobby V

Robert "Bobby" Wilson (born February 27, 1980), better known by his stage name Bobby V, is an American recording artist, pianist, singer and songwriter.

Early life and career beginnings

Bobby V was born (Bobby Wilson) on February 27, 1980, in Mississippi. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up V listened to Michael Jackson, Tony! Toni! Tone!, Marvin Gaye, Jodeci, and The Isley Brothers. Those were the artists that inspired him to become a R&B singer. He later returned to his pier appearing on the debut episode of MTV's Once Upon A Prom, which aired on May 19, 2007. V entered the music scene in 1996 as a member of the R&B youth quartet Mista, at this time using his real name, Bobby Wilson. Under the production of Organized Noize (TLC's "Waterfalls"), the group released their self-titled debut album, which produced the single "Blackberry Molasses". However, the album did not follow in the same success and despite a second album being produced by Tim & Bob, it was never released. Due to management issues the group split in 1997. Bobby later enrolled at Clark Atlanta University majoring in Mass Communications. While in school, Bobby V continued to record in his free time in hopes of one day returning to the stage. In the spring of 2002 he auditioned for season one of American Idol, but did not make the cut.

The Rebirth

The Rebirth (originally titled Underground Love) is the third studio album from R&B singer Bobby V. It was released on February 10, 2009. The album is V's first to be released through his record label Blu Kolla Dreams, and debuted at number seven on the U.S. Billboard 200, selling 64,000 copies in its first week. The first single "Beep" reached 55 on the billboard 100 and 6 on the R&B and Hip-Hop his chart, the second single "Hands On Me" reached number 56.

Concept

After V's sophomore disc, Special Occasion, was scarcely supported by his soon-to-be-former label, it was clearly time to re-envision his career. The introspection and soul-searching resulted in The Rebirth. Alongside producers LOS Da Maestro, Raphael Saadiq, Big Fruit and long-time collaborators Tim & Bob, the album, which revolves around relationships, offers a mature effort that will both please loyal fans and win over fickle critics. Robert "Bobby" Wilson (born February 27, 1980), better known by his stage name Bobby V, is an American recording artist, pianist, singer and songwriter.

Early life and career beginnings

Bobby V was born (Bobby Wilson) on February 27, 1980, in Mississippi. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Growing up V listened to Michael Jackson, Tony! Toni! Tone!, Marvin Gaye, Jodeci, and The Isley Brothers. Those were the artists that inspired him to become a R&B singer. He later returned to his pier appearing on the debut episode of MTV's Once Upon A Prom, which aired on May 19, 2007. V entered the music scene in 1996 as a member of the R&B youth quartet Mista, at this time using his real name, Bobby Wilson. Under the production of Organized Noize (TLC's "Waterfalls"), the group released their self-titled debut album, which produced the single "Blackberry Molasses". However, the album did not follow in the same success and despite a second album being produced by Tim & Bob, it was never released. Due to management issues the group split in 1997. Bobby later enrolled at Clark Atlanta University majoring in Mass Communications. While in school, Bobby V continued to record in his free time in hopes of one day returning to the stage. In the spring of 2002 he auditioned for season one of American Idol, but did not make the cut.

As the blood seeps through my lungs, my whole world
shatters into a million pieces. On my hands and knees I
crawl through broken-glass mirrors in my eyes, where
dreams once used to lie.
This is a disease that I cannot control. It infiltrates
every cell and every part of my being. Sweat and tears
and blood have all been meaningless; the antidote has
been found, but the cure remains fatal.
If happiness is a warm gun, then put that barrel to my
chest, pull the trigger, and let me feel the blood run
down my back, into my lungs.

Nihilism once killed a dream and sparked a flame which
never died, that grew and birthed into something terrible
that destroyed the world inside his mind. He never knew
what had murdered his hope, and why through his eyes, he
saw only black. Blood seeped from his eyes, and he
swallowed all his tears.
