Hidden away in Drumheller Valley, is an unexpected piece of history that many, who do not live in the area would not expect to find. This little surprise is none other than the Bleriot Ferry. Along the North Dinosaur Trail, the Alberta Highway 838, there is a section that has the Red Deer River run through it. Instead of building a bridge and a road over it, Andre Bleriot built a small ferry.
The Bleriot Ferry is the last operational ferry that has not been dismantled in the Drumheller region because of its historical significance. It has remained operational for over a century now.

This flight is around the campground located at the Bleriot Ferry (Munson Ferry) in Alberta. Taken in 2018, the summer of all the smoke that hung in the valley and turned it into a mystical scene. Hope you enjoy the short video.

Bleriot Ferry in action | DrumhellerAlberta | it is in service during the lock down
A view of the Bleriot Ferry in action. I remember seeing signs about trailers not being allowed so double check. We received mixed messages about the ferry service being closed down due to but that's not the case. It moves slow and quite fun way to cross the Red River.
