It was a style inspired by his tutor, French jazz musician Darius Milhaud.

The starry occasion at the US White House, Washington DC, broadcast on May 21, 2012, celebrated the presentation by President Obama and Michelle Obama of the Library of Congress' 2012 Gershwin Prize for Popular Song to composer Burt Bacharach, 83, and lyricist Hal David, 90. Bacharach was in attendance, but David, recovering from a recent stroke, was not there to hear Stevie Wonder sing "Alfie," one of the team's many hits in a 50-year career. Hal David died from a stroke at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, at the age of 91 on September 1, 2010.
The Gershwin Prize for Popular Song "honors artists whose lifetime contributions in the field of popular song exemplify the standard of excellence associated with George and Ira Gershwin, by bridging musical styles, bringing diverse listeners together, and fostering their mutual respect and appreciation."
Previous recipients are Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, and Paul McCartney.
In making the selection for the prize, the Librarian of Congress turned for advice to leading members of the music and entertainment communities. The 2012 award advisory committee consisted of Elvis Costello, Bobette Dudley, Paul McCartney, Rickey Minor, Paul Simon, Lee Ann Womack, and Stevie Wonder.
Bacharach and David have collaborated with other songwriters. Their most prolific time together was in the 1960s up to a hiatus in the mid-1970s. They reunited in the early 1990s with Dionne Warwick, writing a song titled "Sunny Weather Lover" for her "Friends Can Be Lovers" album.
Burt Bacharach won three
Academy Awards and eight Grammy Awards, including the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award and the 1997 Trustees Award, both of which he shares with David. David has won several Grammy Awards; he also has received the Presidential Award from the National Association of Recording Merchandisers (NARM) and the B'Nai B'rith Creative Achievement Award. As a recipient of the Ivor Novello Award, he became the first American to achieve that honor. In 1996 he and Burt Bacharach received the Johnny Mercer Award from the national Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2011, the Hall also presented David with its Visionary Leadership Award.

the brightest object in the universe ? how it made from black hole? #quasar #blackhole #mistry
What is your definition of a quasar? What do quasars have to do with black holes? How big are quasars compared to galaxies? Why do some quasars give off radio waves? About how long do quasars last? How long does it take for a quasar to form? How do quasars form? How difficult are quasars to study?
For other uses, see Quasar (disambiguation). "Quasi-stellar object" redirects here. Not to be confused with Quasi-star.

The term quasar originated as a contraction of "quasi-stellar [star-like] radio source"—because they were first identified during the 1950s as sources of radio-wave emission of unknown physical...

Wal Thornhill: Supernovas, Neutron Stars and Black Holes "Break the Rules" | Space News
In Part Two of our interview with Wal Thornhill, Chief Science Advisor of The Thunderbolts Project, we explore a number of intriguing space science discoveries, including supernovae, "neutron stars," "black holes" and "white dwarf" stars which appear to break the expected rules of standard cosmology.
Are these "weird" objects really rule breakers, or can we find better explanations from plasma cosmology and the Electric Universe?

What is your definition of a quasar? What do quasars have to do with black holes? How big are quasars compared to galaxies? Why do some quasars give off radio waves? About how long do quasars last? How long does it take for a quasar to form? How do quasars form? How difficult are quasars to study?
For other uses, see Quasar (disambiguation). "Quasi-stellar object" redirects here. Not to be confused with Quasi-star.

Nature timeline
T
The term quasar originated as a contraction of "quasi-stellar [star-like] radio source"—because they were first identified during the 1950s as sources of radio-wave emission of unknown physical origin—and when identified in photographic images at visible wavelengths, they resembled faint, star-like points of light. High-resolution images of quasars, particularly from the Hubble Space Telescope, have shown that quasars occur in the centers of galaxies, and that some host galaxies are strongly interacting or merging galaxies.[5] As with other categories of AGN, the observed properties of a quasar depend on many factors, including the mass of the black hole, the rate of gas accretion, the orientation of the accretion disc relative to the observer, the presence or absence of a jet, and the degree of obscuration by gas and dust within the host galaxy.
More than a million quasars have been found,[6] with the nearest known being about 600 million light-years from Earth. The record for the most distant known quasar continues to change. In 2017, quasar ULAS J1342+0928 was detected at redshift z = 7.54. Light observed from this 800-million-solar-mass quasar was emitted when the universe was only 690 million years old.[7][8][9] In 2020, quasar Pōniuāʻena was detected from a time only 700 million years after the Big Bang, and with an estimated mass of 1.5 billion times the mass of the Sun.[10][11] In early 2021, the quasar QSO J0313–1806, with a 1.6-billion-solar-mass black hole, was reported at z = 7.64, 670 million years after the Big Bang.[12]
Quasar discovery surveys have shown that quasar activity was more common in the distant past; the peak epoch was approximately 10 billion years ago.[13] Concentrations of multiple, gravitationally attracted quasars are known as large quasar groups and constitute some of the largest known structures in the universe.
Naming
The term "quasar" was first used in an article by astrophysicist Hong-Yee Chiu in May 1964, in Physics Today, to describe certain astronomically puzzling objects:[14]
So far, the clumsily long name "quasi-stellar radio sources" is used to describe these objects. Because the nature of these objects is entirely unknown, it is hard to prepare a short, appropriate nomenclature for them so that their essential properties are obvious from their name. For convenience, the abbreviated form "quasar" will be used throughout this paper.
History of observation and interpretation
Sloan Digital Sky Survey image of quasar 3C 273, illustrating the object's star-like appearance. The quasar's jet can be seen extending downward and to the right from the quasar.
Hubble images of quasar 3C 273. At right, a coronagraph is used to block the quasar's light, making it easier to detect the surrounding host galaxy.
Background
Main article: Galaxy § Distinction from other nebulae
Between 1917 and 1922, it became clear from work by Heber Curtis, Ernst Öpik and others that some objects ("nebulae") seen by astronomers were in fact distant galaxies like the Milky Way. But when radio astronomy began in the 1950s, astronomers detected, among the galaxies, a small number of anomalous objects with properties that defied explanation.
The objects emitted large amounts of radiation of many frequencies, but no source could be located optically, or in some cases only a faint and point-like object somewhat like a distant star. The spectral lines of these objects, which identify the chemical elements of which the object is composed, were also extremely strange and defied explanation. Some of them changed their luminosity very rapidly in the optical range and even more rapidly in the X-ray range, suggesting an upper limit on their size, perhaps no larger than the Solar System.[15] This implies an extremely high power density.[16] Considerable discussion took place over what these objects might be.

Hello everyone welcome back to another video. Join us for a fascinating look at the latest research on dark energy and black holes. Scientists have proposed a groundbreaking new theory that black holes are the root cause of dark energy, the mysterious force driving the accelerated expansion of the universe. In this video, we explore the evidence supporting this theory, what it means for our understanding of the cosmos, and the implications for future research.
