Fastest Method To Multiply Two Numbers | Vedic Maths
Vedic Mathematics is a collection of Formulae/Techniques called Sutras which help us solve arithmetic problems. The techniques are said to have been taken from multiple Sanskrit texts. The Sutras in Vedic Mathematics were put together by Indian Mathematician Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji around the early 20th century
Easy way for multiplication
Sutra:Vertically and Cross wise
Example 1: 7 x8
Step 1: Here base is 10,
7 – 3 (7 is 3 below 10) also called deficiencies
× 8 – 2 (8 is 2 below 10) also called deficiencies
Step 2: Cross subtract to get first figure (or digit) of the answer: 7 – 2 = 5 or 8 – 3 = 5 , the two
difference are always same.
Step 3 : Multiply vertically i.e. –3 × –2 = 6 which is second part of the answer.
So, 7 – 3
8 – 2 i.e. 7 × 8 = 56
5 / 6
Second Method:

Same Base Method :
When both the numbers are more than the same base. This method is extension of the above method i.e.
we are going to use same sutra here and applying it to larger numbers.
Example 1: 12 × 14
Step 1: Here base is 10
12 + 2 [12 is 2 more than 10 also called surplus]
14 + 4 [14 is 4 more than 10also called surplus]
Step 2: Cross add: 12 + 4 =16 or 14 + 2 = 16,(both same) which gives first part of answer = 16
Step 3: Vertical multiplication: 2 × 4 = 8
So, 12 + 2
14 +4
16 / 8So, 12 × 14 = 168
(14 + 2 = 12 + 4)
Two digit – multiplication
Example: Multiply 21 and 23
Step1: Vertical (one at a time) 2 [1] 1 × 3 = 3 3
2 [3]
Step2: Cross –wise (two at a time) 2 1 (2 × 3 + 2 × 1) = 8
2 3 8 3
Step3: Vertical (one at a time) [2] 1 2 × 2 = 4
[2] 3 4 8 3
∴ 21 × 23 = 483
Multiplication with carry:
Example: Multiply 42 and 26
Step1: Vertical 42 2 × 6 = 12 12
26
Step2: Cross-wise 4 2 4 × 6 + 2 × 2 28 12
2 6 24 + 4 = 28
Step3: Vertical 42 4 × 2 = 8 8 8 2
26 + 2 1
= 10 = 2 9
∴ 42 × 26 = 1092

As pointed out by Rex Galilae:
The Kerala school of math didn't invent calculus. They just solved some very specific problems that were later solved using calculus by people like MacLaurin and Taylor. While fantastic achievements in their own right, they were ad hoc solutions and NOT comparable to the seminal work by Newton.
As pointed out by Dani Sir:
While performing arithmetic operations with n digit numbers is no serious mathematics, there are longstanding problems about numbers, such as the Goldbach conjecture for instance, which have been subject of serious study.

Vedic Maths techniques are the best techniques that performs our calculations with rapid speed. Vedic Mathematics is a collection of Techniques/Sutras to solve mathematical arithmetics in easy and faster way. It consists of 16 Sutras (Formulae) and 13 sub-sutras (Sub Formulae) which can be used for problems involved in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, conics.
Vedic Mathematics is a system of mathematics which was discovered by Indian mathematician Jagadguru Shri Bharathi Krishna Tirthaji in the period between A.D. 1911 and 1918 and published his findings in a Vedic Mathematics Book by Tirthaji Maharaj
Veda is a Sanskrit word which means ‘Knowledge’.
Using regular mathematical steps, solving problems sometimes are complex and time consuming.
The square root of a number is the inverse operation of square of number.
Example
Number Square of the number Square root of the number
6^2 6 × 6 = 36 √36=6
8^2 8 × 8 = 64 √64=8
12^2 12 × 12 = 144 √144=12
Points to be remembered before finding the square root of any number :
1. The given number is arranged as a group of two numbers from right to left. If a single number has remained at the left, then it is also considered as one group.
2. The number of groups derived for the given number will be the number of digits of the square root of that number.
Example : √25=5
, here there are two digits so one group. So, the square root of 25 is 5.
√169=13, the number forms two groups (1, 69), so the square root is two-digit number 13.
3. If the square of a number is an odd number, then the square root is also an odd number, and if the square is an even number, then the square root is also an even number.
Logic to find the square root
Observing the square of numbers from 1 to 9, we can analyze that an exact square ends with 1,4,5, 6,9, and 0 square root. These numbers will be rational numbers.
If the square of the number ends with 2,3,7 and 8 then its square root will be an irrational number.
Square root of perfect square number:
Number:√3969
Step
39 | 69 Grouping: from right to left
38 is greater than 36, the perfect square number of 62, and 69 is lesser than 64, which is a perfect square number of 82
3600 | 6400
602 | 802 Therefore the given number lies between 3600 and 6400 that means there square number will be between 60 and 80
So the first number in the square root will be 6
The number in the units places is 9 so the square number should be ending with 3 or 7 (as discussed above)
The square root of the given number should be either 63 or 67
Applying digit sum method to find the square root
63 = 3969
(6 + 3) = 3+9+6+9
9 = 2 + 7
9 = 9 So the square root of number 3969 is 63
Answer : 3969 = 63
Square root of imperfect square number :
Number Steps
√2
The given number is not a perfect square
1 + 1 = 2. or
4 - 2 = 2 The nearest square number is 1 and 4
1 + 1/2
1 + 0.5
1.5 Square root of 1 is 1, add (1 ÷ [ 1 + 1]) i.e 1 divide by twice the perfect square number
1.5 The same when calculated in calculator gives 1.414 which is approximately equal to 1.5
√20
√2
25 - 5 = 20 25 is the perfect square of 5 subtract it from (1/10) 1 divide by twice the perfect square
25 - 5/10
5 - 0.5
4.5
The same when calculated in calculator gives 4.47 which is approximately equal to 4.5
After learning a few of the tricks to find square and square roots of the number, one will be able to easily find the square numbers and their square roots without any help from calculators. These tricks are very helpful in solving aptitude problems related to square and square roots in competitive exams.

Vedic Mathematics is a collection of Formulae/Techniques called Sutras which help us solve arithmetic problems. The techniques are said to have been taken from multiple Sanskrit texts. The Sutras in Vedic Mathematics were put together by Indian Mathematician Shri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji around the early 20th century.
Multiplication of numbers closer to the power of 10
(Nikhilam)
This can be further divided into two categories.
Numbers lesser/greater and closer to the power of 10 (both numbers on the same side to the power of 10)
Numbers closer and lying on both sides to the power of 10
Numbers lesser/greater and closer to the power of 10 (on the same side)
Step 1: Find the difference between the numbers from the closest power of 10 and multiply them.
Step 2: Add one of the two given numbers to the difference of the other number from the closest power of 10 (Subtract the closest power of 10 from the number)
Step 3: Final answer is obtained by joining the answer from step 2 and step 1
Example
Multiply 93 × 96

The Genius Mathematician Who Had Access To A Higher Dimension: Srinivasa Ramanujan
Srinivasa Ramanujan was a self taught mathematical genius who relied on intuition to achieve his success, believing that an equation “has no meaning unless it expresses a thought of God.”
While his colleagues meticulously reached their results via proofs, Ramanujan made significant contributions to the theory of numbers, infinite series, continued fractions, elliptic functions and many more based on inspiration from dreams and visions.

Aryabhata : Mathematics and Astronomy #history #india #youtube #shorts
Did you know that the ancient Indian mathematician Aryabhata revolutionized the field of astronomy with his groundbreaking discoveries in the 5th century CE? Aryabhata was the first person to propose that the Earth rotates on its axis and orbits around the Sun, a theory that was considered radical at the time but is now a fundamental principle of modern astronomy. In his book, Aryabhatiya, he provided detailed calculations of the motions of the celestial bodies and explained the apparent movement of the stars as being due to the rotation of the Earth.
Aryabhata's contributions to the field of mathematics were equally significant. He is credited with developing the decimal system, which uses a base of 10 and includes the concept of zero, a revolutionary idea that greatly simplified mathema...

The birch bark scroll is known as the Bakhshali manuscript after the village, which is now in Pakistan, where it was found buried in 1881.
A black dot on a third-century Indian manuscript has been identified by Oxford University as the first recorded use of the mathematical symbol for zero, 500 years earlier than previously thought.
"Scientists from the University of Oxford's Bodleian Libraries, have used carbon dating to trace the figure's origins to the famous ancient Indian scroll," the university said in a statement.

He is credited with developing the decimal system, which uses a base of 10 and includes the concept of zero, a revolutionary idea that greatly simplified mathematical calculations. He also made significant advances in algebra, trigonometry, and spherical geometry, laying the foundation for many later discoveries in these fields.
The impact of Aryabhata's work on the development of science and mathematics cannot be overstated. His ideas and calculations influenced many later scholars in India and around the world, including the Persian astronomer Al-Khwarizmi, who introduced Hindu-Arabic numerals to the Islamic world. Aryabhata's influence can still be seen in modern astronomy and mathematics, where his legacy continues to inspire new discoveries and breakthroughs.
In order to ensure that this fascinating story of Aryabhata and his contributions to science and mathematics reaches a wider audience, it is important to optimize the content for search engines. This can be achieved by incorporating relevant keywords and phrases into the text, such as "Aryabhata," "Indian mathematician," "astronomy," "decimal system," and "Hindu-Arabic numerals." Additionally, including internal links to related content on the website can help improve the overall SEO score.
Aryabhata was an ancient Indian mathematician who made significant contributions to the field of astronomy. His work, written in the 5th century CE, helped shape our understanding of the celestial bodies and their movements. Aryabhata's groundbreaking discoveries and theories were ahead of their time and paved the way for modern astronomy and mathematics.
One of Aryabhata's most significant contributions was his theory that the Earth rotates on its axis and orbits around the Sun. In his book, Aryabhatiya, he explained that the apparent movement of the stars was due to the rotation of the Earth. This idea was revolutionary at the time, as many believed that the Earth was the center of the universe and that the Sun, Moon, and planets revolved around it.
Aryabhata also calculated the length of a year to be 365.358 days, which is remarkably close to the modern value of 365.2422 days. He developed a number of other mathematical and astronomical concepts, including the sine function, the use of decimals, and the concept of place value.
Aryabhata's work had a significant impact on the development of astronomy and mathematics not just in India, but around the world. His ideas were influential in Islamic astronomy, and his work was translated into Arabic and Persian. European scholars in the Middle Ages also studied Aryabhata's work and were influenced by his ideas.
In addition to his contributions to astronomy and mathematics, Aryabhata was also a philosopher and a teacher. He believed in the importance of education and the pursuit of knowledge. His teachings emphasized the interconnectedness of all things and the importance of seeing the universe as a whole.
Today, Aryabhata is recognized as one of the greatest mathematicians and astronomers of all time. His work continues to inspire scholars and researchers in the fields of astronomy and mathematics. His ideas have also had a profound impact on our understanding of the universe and our place in it.
