A07 Race - A Short Film
Hey everyone & welcome to A07 Race - A Short Film, my 1000 hours journey for beating A07 Race twice as I try to match the pace of trackmania AIs before they take over. It was extremely difficult and I want to thank each and every one of you, I would never be able to do it if it wasn't for the love and the support of the amazing trackmania community.
A07 Race is a track with a massive history behind it, with top battles dating to as far as 2008 and known players like Demon, racehans & pablogd constantly competing for the world record on the first ever drifting track in the game Trackmania Nations Forever. I don't want this video to be a self centered one so added a comparison with Demon & Pablo and a recap of all of the main history of the map and the major improvements.

On average, every single hundredth is about 3.5 to 4 times more difficult than the previous one and there are about 20 details to keep in mind while you are driving to get a decent run so we've reached the point where it's not just a racing challenge but a focus and a psychological one too.
That being said, the limit isn't reached just yet and this time - 26.18 will still probably be beaten in the future but that's the beauty of the game, pushing the limits one small step at a time.
This year had been a horrific one for me, for my country and for so many people worldwide so I hope this little video can shed some light in the darkness for everyone that needs it, one small step at a time.
If you've made it so far, you are a special person - be proud.
I've been asked a lot about why I tried this map, what's the limit what will I do next so I'll do my best to answer all of your questions once & for all.
There are so many reasons but mainly, we all want to push the limits,
the limit of what's physically possible and especially - our own limit.
I wanted to prove to myself that I can be consistent, that giving up won't be an option and that it wasn't just a fluke. Half a year ago, A07 was the only drifting track that AIs tried and could not beat humanity on, I thought of this as a nice 'goodbye, farewell' moment before AI is no longer beatable.
Deep down I felt like I can push it just a tiny bit more... I still feel that way but knowing the enormous effort it would take... I haven't decided yet.
What's the limit?
It's quite tough to say with absolute certainty but in theory the 26.12 is the best ever TAS that is in theory humanly viable. This however would never happen. You can always optimize for speed, for angle or for a correct car positioning but rarely for all at the same time so eventually you 'drink your own poison' and decide what trade-off you pick and what matters more.
I'd say that realistically somewhere between high 26.14 and low 26.17 will probably be the realistic end goal for the track, a big range but it goes beyond what's possible and far into how crazy invested & disciplined players will push themselves trying this map.
So... what's next?
I'll learn from Pablo and be somewhat mysterious and vague but I'd like to take this opportunity to let you know that I am working on huge trackmania competitions (that will only be relevant in the far future) and I've got massive plans for the game. I really hope that I'll be able to make them happen which is why I don't announce anything just yet but the vision is there. Hunting at this point is a part of who I am, but I'd like to shift focus slightly and make Trackmania the success story it definitely should be. I am here for the long run and hopefully we can take Trackmania to the next level and be united... forever.
Also, WoWoWoWoWoW & ty, love you guys.
