Sammy Sosa Throws Bernard Gilkey Out at Home to Save the Game
In the top of the 9th inning of the St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs game on April 10, 1992, with the score tied at 1 and the bases loaded with one out, Pedro Guerrero hits a fly ball to Center Field, where Sammy Sosa makes the catch. Bernard Gilkey attempts to tag up from 3rd base and score, but Sammy throws him out at home plate, and Joe Girardi makes the tag to keep the game tied at 1. It was just Sosa's fourth game as a Cub.
