Its major inflow comes from a chain of small lakes in the south, Osterseen. This small river is called Ach or Ostersee-Ach. It is possible to circumnavigate the lake by cycle. The lake's water is of excellent quality due to a circular sewerage system being introduced in the 1960s, collecting all wastewater from around the lake and transporting it to a treatment plant below the lake's outlet at Starnberg.
Roseninsel, or Rose Island, is the site of a royal villa of Ludwig II.
The lake is cited in T. S. Eliot's poem The Waste Land.

Hello, today's tour is in Bamberg city. The historic town of Bamberg, lies on the western edge of a wide basin in the valley of the Regnitz. Significant part of the medieval old town is well preserved and it is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walking in the city, crossing its streets and bridges is a real great experience. Starting from the Obere Brücke, the pedestrian-only Upper Bridge with an amazing medieval architecture everywhere around. Some are calling it "Little Venice," with its quaint old fishermen's houses. And pass through the bridge where the Old town hall (Altes Rathaus) lies, it's one of the most photographed historic landmarks in Bavaria. Then we explore the other parts of the old town of Bamberg and cross the other bridges with a fantastic views of the buildings around them before we move to the Bamberg Cathedral (Bamberger Dom), its full name is St. Peter's and St. George's Imperial Cathedral and the surrounding great buildings and gardens. Then we continue to explore the beauty of the city.

The Klosterbrauerei Andechs is a monastic brewery in Andechs, Upper Bavaria, Germany, well known for its Andechser beers. The brewery is run by the monks of Andechs Abbey, a priory of St. Boniface's Abbey, a Benedictine abbey situated 40 km away in Munich. It is the only monastic brewery in Germany that brews Bock beer year-round for nationwide distribution. Every year, the brewery produces over 100,000 hectolitres (85,000 US bbl) of beer. A portion of the beer is served on-site at the abbey; the remainder is exported throughout Germany and worldwide.

Lake Starnberg Germany Tours - Lake Starnberg (German: Starnberger See) in southern Bavaria is Germanys fourth largest lake and a popular recreation area for the nearby city of Munich. Towns by the lake include Starnberg in the north, Seeshaupt in the south, and Tutzing in the west. The small town of Berg, Upper Bavaria near Starnberg is famous as the site where King Ludwig II of Bavaria was found dead in the lake in 1886.
The lake, which was created by ice age glaciers from the Alps, extends 21 km (14 miles) from north to south and has a width of 3-5 km (2-3.5 miles) from east to west. It has a single, small island, the Roseninsel, and a single outlet, the Würm river (because of this river the lake was called the Würmsee until 1962). Its major inflow comes from a chain of small lakes in the south, Osterseen. This small river is called Ach or Ostersee-Ach. It is possible to circumnavigate the lake by cycle. The lakes water is of excellent quality due to a circular sewerage system being introduced in the 1960s, collecting all wastewater from around the lake and transporting it to a treatment plant below the lakes outlet at Starnberg.
Roseninsel, or Rose Island, is the site of a royal villa of Ludwig II.
The lake is cited in T. S. Eliots poem The Waste Land.
