Ben Liebrand (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbɛn ˈli.brɑnt]) (born 27 September 1960 in Nijmegen, the Netherlands) is a dance music DJ. He has produced artists such as Forrest and MC Miker G & DJ Sven and remixed tracks by artists such as Michael Jackson, Salt N Pepa, Sting, TLC, Fun Fun, Tavares, Bill Withers, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, George Aaron, Rick Astley, SWV and Phil Collins. He has also charted under his own name, an example of which was Ben Liebrand's version of "Eve of the War."
His radio show "In The Mix" was the first non-stop mixed show that aired on Dutch National Radio in 1983. Early listeners were Armin van Buuren and Tiësto, who have cited Liebrand as their main reason for entering the music business. "In The Mix" also spawned an annual yearmix with 100+ tracks called "The Grandmix." The first series of Grandmixes aired from 1983 to 1992 and later versions from 1999 on are also released on CD.
Liebrand began his DJ-ing career in 1976 at the age of 16 with his mobile set-up, "The B. Liebrand Audio Studio", playing parties around his hometown of Nijmegen. Two years later, when he became old enough to frequent nightclubs, he moved from mobile discos to a nightclub residency, playing in "Juicy Lucy" nightclub (1978–1979). At this point, he was still letting one record play into another without beatmixing; however in 1979, he began a residency at "The Kwien" (pronounced 'The Queen') nightclub (1979–1980). During this time, Liebrand learned the art of mixing from Kwien resident Huib Luiten.
David Bowie is the debut studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 1 June 1967, on Deram Records.
Its content bears little overt resemblance to the type of music that later made him famous, such as the folk rock of "Space Oddity" or the glam rock of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. NME critics Roy Carr and Charles Shaar Murray have said, "a listener strictly accustomed to David Bowie in his assorted '70s guises would probably find this debut album either shocking or else simply quaint", while biographer David Buckley describes its status in the Bowie discography as "the vinyl equivalent of the madwoman in the attic".The Village Voice critic Robert Christgau considered this debut and its followup to be "overwrought excursions".
David Bowie's influences at this stage of his career included the theatrical tunes of Anthony Newley, music hall numbers by acts like Tommy Steele, some of the more whimsical and 'British' material by Ray Davies of the Kinks, Syd Barrett's slightly cracked nursery rhymes for the early Pink Floyd, and the Edwardian flam shared by such contemporary songs as the Beatles' "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!" The desire of Bowie's then-manager, Ken Pitt, for his charge to become an 'all-round entertainer' rather than a 'rock star' has also been cited as impacting the songwriter's style at this time, which virtually eschewed any rock 'n' roll trappings. Bowie himself said that his debut album "seemed to have its roots all over the place, in rock and vaudeville and music hall. I didn't know if I was Max Miller or Elvis Presley".
David Bowie is the second studio album by English musician David Bowie, released under that title by Philips in the UK, and as Man of Words/Man of Music by Mercury in the US, in November 1969. It was rereleased in 1972 by RCA as Space Oddity (the title of the opening track, which had been released as a single in July 1969 and reached No. 5 in the UK Singles Chart). Space Oddity was the name used for CD releases of the album in 1984, 1990 and 1999, but it reverted to the original, eponymous title for 2009 and 2015 reissues.
Regarding its mix of folk, balladry and prog rock, NME editors Roy Carr and Charles Shaar Murray have said, "Some of it belonged in '67 and some of it in '72, but in 1969 it all seemed vastly incongruous. Basically, David Bowie can be viewed in retrospect as all that Bowie had been and a little of what he would become, all jumbled up and fighting for control..."
The album came about after Bowie had made the transition from a cabaret/avant-garde-inspired musician to a hippie/folk-based sound and as such the album is a major turning point from his 1967 debut.
David (Bulgarian: Давид) (died 976) was a Bulgarian noble, brother of Emperor Samuel and eldest son of komes Nicholas. After the disastrous invasion of Rus' armies and the fall of North-eastern Bulgaria under Byzantine occupation in 971, he and his three younger brothers took the lead of the defence of the country. They executed their power together and each of them governed and defended a separate region. He ruled the southern-most parts of the realm from Prespa and Kastoria and was responsible for the defence the dangerous borders with Thessalonica and Thessaly. In 976 he participated in the major assault against the Byzantine Empire but was killed by vagrant Vlachs between Prespa and Kostur.
However, there's also another version about David’s origin. David gains the title "comes" during his service in the Byzantine army which recruited many Armenians from the Eastern region of the empire. The 11th-century historian Stepanos Asoghik wrote that Samuel had one brother, and they were Armenians from the district Derjan. This version is supported by the historians Nicholas Adontz, Jordan Ivanov, and Samuil's Inscription where it’s said that Samuel’s brother is David. Also, the historians Yahya and Al Makin clearly distinguish the race of Samuel and David (the Comitopouli) from the one of Moses and Aaron (the royal race):
David (Spanish pronunciation: [daˈβið]) officially San José de David is a city and corregimiento located in the west of Panama. It is the capital of the province of Chiriquí and has an estimated population of 144,858 inhabitants as confirmed in 2013. It is a relatively affluent city with a firmly established, dominant middle class and a very low unemployment and poverty index. The Pan-American Highway is a popular route to David.
The development of the banking sector, public construction works such as the expansion of the airport and the David-Boquete highway alongside the growth of commercial activity in the city have increased its prominence as one of the fastest growing regions in the country. The city is currently the economic center of the Chiriqui province and produces more than half the gross domestic product of the province, which totals 2.1 billion. It is known for being the third-largest city in the country both in population and by GDP and for being the largest city in Western Panama.
David is a life-size marble sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The sculpture was one of many commissions to decorate the villa of Bernini's patron Cardinal Scipione Borghese – where it still resides today, as part of the Galleria Borghese It was completed in the course of seven months from 1623 to 1624.
The subject of the work is the biblical David, about to throw the stone that will bring down Goliath, which will allow David to behead him. Compared to earlier works on the same theme (notably the David of Michelangelo), the sculpture broke new ground in its implied movement and its psychological intensity.
Between 1618 and 1625 Bernini was commissioned to undertake various sculptural work for the villa of one of his patrons, Cardinal Scipione Borghese. In 1623 – only yet 24 years old – he was working on the sculpture of Apollo and Daphne, when, for unknown reasons, he abandoned this project to start work on the David. According to records of payment, Bernini had started on the sculpture by mid–1623, and his contemporary biographer, Filippo Baldinucci, states that he finished it in seven months.

When I Live My Dream was a song that was very dear to David Bowie’s heart. Recorded after the body of his debut album was made, he and manager Ken Pitt believed that this would be the song that would turn him into a star. Re-recorded with a string arrangement in the summer of 67 for a potential single , When I Live My Dream featured in Bowie’s 1967 Lindsay Kemp-directed mime showcase Pierrot in Turquoise and again, as the closing number in Love You Til Tuesday. Enjoy it here in fully restored HD 1080.
Official video for When I'm Five by David Bowie. Subscribe now: http://bit.ly/2lO9yQo Here is David Bowie in early 1969 singing When I'm Five, a song that he'd begun working on the previous year. The version used for Kenneth Pitt’s film, Love You Till Tuesday, had been recorded for a BBC session in May 1968. The song is sung from a child's perspective, with all the requisite desperation to grow up and echoes 'There Is A Happy Land' from his debut album. With references to his parents and 'Grandfather Jones', as well as a dog called 'Bonzo', When I'm Five has all the hallmarks of 60s Bowie, quirky, childlike and never less than interesting and he ensures all of his then-recent training as a mime is to the fore in the film. Miming to the album version of the song, Bowie dons moustache and straw boater to become a love-lorn Edwardian sitting at the bandstand. Look at 46 seconds for an early example of a classic Bowie pose, as he places his hands to his head. A fascinating period piece from 1969, singing a track from 1966, set in 1910. To celebrate Decca 90, here is David Bowie in early 1969 singing Sell Me A Coat, one of the standout tracks from his 1967 debut album. A new version was recorded for Kenneth Pitt’s film, Love You Til Tuesday. We are delighted to show this here in fully restored HD.
Official video for Let Me Sleep Beside You by David Bowie. Subscribe now: http://bit.ly/2lO9yQo Here, restored in HD to celebrate Decca 90, is the clip for Let Me Sleep Beside You, arguably one of the most important records in David Bowie’s first decade. It marked the first time that he worked with Tony Visconti, the producer he’d be most closely associated with throughout his career. Recorded for Deram as a single in late 1967, the track was unreleased until Bowie selected it for his World Of David Bowie collection. Captured for Love You Till Tuesday, the film is full of Bowie’s signature moves. In fact, his parody of a rock and roller slinging his guitar around can be seen as a direct forerunner of Ziggy Stardust. Watch David Bowie's official music videos here: https://lnk.to/DavidBo...

Posted by http://www.nostalgoteket.se "Space Oddity" is a song written and performed by David Bowie and released as a music single in 1969. It is about the launch of Major Tom, a fictional astronaut; its title alludes to the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, released the previous year. The lyrics have also been seen to lampoon the failed British space programme. The song appears on the album David Bowie (also known as Space Oddity). The BBC featured the song in its television coverage of the Apollo 11 launch and lunar landing, which took place in the days following the release of the song.

David Bowie - Space Oddity (Hits A Go Go) (1969) (HD) Tis indeed a bit of an "oddity" this one... the video that is not the song... Some very rare and old black & white footage of one of Bowies greatest tracks ever "Space Oddity" from 1969 on the Swiss TV show "Hits A Go Go"... Yes the video really is that dark in places, dunno if it was just "trendy" or perhaps the Swiss where just like us in the UK back then and suffering from power cuts from all the strikes and 3 days week work to rule at the time or if they simply kept the lights out for as long as they could get away with trying to hide that bloody awful perm Bowie had in this one !!! :-o Anywhoo here's is one Bowies best of all time with some rather different footage to go with it... enjoy... :-) Cleaned Up, Sharpened Up, Redubb...
