Rock City claims that it is possible to see seven states from Lover's Leap, a point in Rock City, but this has not been proven.
Events and shows
In 2006 Rock City began having daily bird shows for its visitors. The bird shows focus on birds of prey. The shows are included with paid admission to the gardens. Now, however, the birds of prey shows are Thursdays through Sundays, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, with an additional show at 4:30 pm on Saturdays.
Every Autumn, Rock City creates a maze using crops of corn in the valley below the gardens. The maze can be seen from the Lovers Leap lookout point. From the gardens, you can view imagery and designs that have been cut out within the maze.
Rock City is a park located on hillsides overlooking the Solomon River in Ottawa County, Kansas. It is 3.6 miles south of Minneapolis, Kansas and just over 0.5 mile west of Kansas highway K-106 and the Minneapolis City County Airport on Ivy Road. In a patch of prairie about 500 meters (1600 feet) long and 40 meters (130 feet) wide, Rock City contains three clusters of large spherical boulders. These three clusters contain a total of 200 spherical boulders. It has been designated as a National Natural Landmark.
The park, owned by a non-profit corporation, has a visitor center and picnic tables. A small admission fee, which is used to maintain this park, is charged.
The remarkable size and spherical shape of these rock formation was first noted by Bell. Later, these boulders were either noted or described by Gould, Landes, Shaffer, Ward, and Swineford. Shaffer was the first person to map the distribution of these boulders at Rock City and investigate their petrography in detail.
"Bad Day" is a pop song from Canadian singer Daniel Powter's self-titled debut studio album. It was written by Powter and produced by Jeff Dawson and Mitchell Froom. Powter and Dawson recorded the song in 2002 but could not find a label to release it at first. The song was first used in a French Coca-Cola television advertisement in Christmas 2004 before its official release. Tom Whalley, Warner Bros. Records' chairman and CEO, offered Powter a contract after hearing a demo tape of it. This track ended up being released as the lead single in Europe in early 2005.
Although "Bad Day" received mixed critical reviews, with some music critics finding a "universal appeal" and others claiming a lack of depth in its lyrics, it was a commercial success. In 2005, the single charted in the top five in more than ten countries worldwide, and became the most played song on European radio. After its European success, it was released in the United States where it topped Billboard's Hot 100, Pop 100, Adult Top 40, and Adult Contemporary charts. In 2006, It became the first song ever to sell 2 million digital copies in the U.S. and, after another million were sold, it was certified three-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 2009. It was certified gold in the United Kingdom and Germany, and platinum in Australia and Canada, and also received certifications in Japan, France, and Denmark.
List of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 TV series) episodes
This is a list of episodes of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003 TV series. The series debuted on February 8, 2003 on the Fox Network as part of Fox's 4Kids TV Saturday morning lineup, and ended on March 27, 2010. Series
Season One: 2003
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' first season originally aired between February 4, 2003 and November 1, 2003, beginning with the "Things Change" episode. The episodes were released in two separate volumes, the first on May 22, 2007 with twelve episodes, and the second on September 18, 2007 with fourteen episodes.
Season Two: 2003–04
The Shredder returns in season 2 and is revealed to be an Utrom named Ch'rell. Karai the daughter of the Shredder makes her first appearance in this season.
Season Three: 2004–05
Many of the Ninja Turtles enemies return in season 3. This is the final season that includes Utrom Shredder.
The song first appeared in 1985, when Michael Stipe sang a few words of it during a concert in Albany, New York, as part of the Reconstruction tour. Then, around the time of Lifes Rich Pageant, the song emerged in a more polished version with the title "PSA"—an abbreviation for "public service announcement". An anti-media rant inspired by a day Stipe found a camcorder lens in his face when he answered the front door, the song was never released but did serve as a sort of forerunner to "It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)", a song with a similar cadence and delivery. In 2003, Stipe saw that the song still had contemporary resonance, and the band finally recorded it for In Time, with only slightly updated lyrics and under the new title "Bad Day".
An outtake version of the song originally recorded for Lifes Rich Pageant finally appeared on EMI's 2006 compilation, And I Feel Fine... The Best of the I.R.S. Years 1982-1987. A demo version from the same sessions appeared on the 25th Anniversary Edition of Lifes Rich Pageant in 2011. The arrangement of the song is slightly different in each version.
Rock City was a pop music group in the late 1960s formed by Chris Bell, Terry Manning, Jody Stephens, and Thomas Eubanks. They recorded one album, which was shelved at the time, and not released until 2003. The group was a progenitor to Big Star, and also performed at times under the names "Christmas Future" and "Icewater."
This is a very good song, and there is nothing that is wrong with this song.
