Muhammad Azim ud-Din I (Arabic:مُحَمَّدعلیم الدین, Jawi:محمدعلیم الدیند also Muhammad Alimuddin; Christian Name: Don Fernando de Alimuddin) was Sultan of Sulu from 1735 to 1748, and again from 1764 until his abdication in 1774. He was briefly converted to Catholicism under the name Fernando until he returned to Sulu and reverted to Islam, dying as a Muslim.
Early life
The young Alimuddin initially attended the school of his father, Badar ud-Din I, and was later sent to Batavia, Dutch East Indies, to complete his education. There he became proficient in Arabic and Malay, and gained mastery of the Qur'an.
First reign
Azim ud-Din I acceded the throne in 1732 after his father abdicated, but only assumed full powers and formal recognition in 1735 when his cousin, Nasar ud-Din, abandoned claims to the throne. One of the earliest events in the reign of Azim ud-Din I was his ratification of the Treaty of 1737. He was represented in Manila by Datu Mohammad Ismael and Datu Ja'far, who both signed the document. The treaty, drawn in January 1737 by Governor-General Fernando Valdes y Tamon, contained five articles: first, the preservation of permanent peace between the two states; second, the provision for alliance and mutual aid against any foreign foe; third, free trade between the two states; fourth, responsibility of each state for all infractions of the peace; and fifth, provision for the exchange of captives and return of all church images and ornaments.
The peaceful advent of Islam around 1138 through merchants and traders had a distinct influence on Southeast Asia. The coming of Arabs, Persians and other Muslims paved the way for the arrival of religious missionaries, traders, scholars and travelers to Sulu and Mindanao in the 12th century.
A landmark born of the social process was the founding of the Sultanate of Sulu. Year 1380 CE, Karim-ul Makhdum came to Sulu and introduced Islam to the Philippines. Year 1450 CE, a Johore-born Arab adventurer, Sayyid Abubakar Abirin came to Sulu and lived with Rajah Baguinda Ali, eventually marrying his daughter Dayang-dayang Paramisuli and eventually inheriting Rajah Baguinda's polity (which was a principality before) and turning it into a sultanate. Sayyid Abubakar eventually inherited the rule of Rajah Baguinda, established the Sultanate of Sulu and became its first Sultan. To consolidate his rule, Sayyid Abubakar united the local political units under the umbrella of the Sultanate. He brought Sulu, Zamboanga Peninsula, Palawan and Basilan under its aegis.
Captain Underpants is a children's novel series by American author and illustrator Dav Pilkey. The series revolves around two fourth graders, George Beard and Harold Hutchins, living in Piqua, Ohio, and Captain Underpants, an aptly named superhero from one of the boys' homemade comic books, that accidentally becomes real when George and Harold hypnotize their megalomaniacal principal, Mr. Krupp. Soon after, Mr. Krupp gains superpowers by drinking alien juices.
The series includes 14 books and 3 spin-offs, and won a Disney Adventures Kids' Choice Award in 2007. As of 2013, the series had been translated in over 20 languages, with more than 70 million books sold worldwide, of that, over 50 million in the United States.DreamWorks Animation acquired rights to the series to make an animated feature film adaptation.
Characters
Main
George Beard and Harold Hutchins – Two fourth grade pranksters, who are best friends and next-door neighbors. They started a comic book company called " Treehouse Comix, Inc.", and every so often at school they go to the secretary's office to make copies of their latest comic book and sell them on the playground for a 50-cent fee. George is 93⁄4 years old while Harold is 10 years old, identified in the Super Diaper Baby book. They are considered the 4th grade class clowns at Jerome Horwitz Elementary School, a school which discourages imagination and fun, located in Piqua, Ohio. It is revealed in the Wrath of the Wicked Wedgie Woman that their grades range from B to C. They often get in trouble and serious events with Mr. Krupp. In Captain Underpants and the Tyrannical Retaliation of the Turbo Toilet 2000, duplicates of themselves are born and the four friends share the same life. In Sir-Stinks-A-Lot, they met themselves as adults; George is a comic book writer, has married a woman and has two children; Harold is a comic book illustrator, and is married to a man with whom he has twin children named Kai and Owen.
Takei recalled Gene Roddenberry wanted the character to represent all of Asia, which symbolized the peace of the Trek universe in spite of the numerous wars in the continent. Roddenberry did not want a nationally specific surname, so he looked at a map and saw the Sulu Sea. "He thought, 'Ah, the waters of that sea touch all shores'," the actor recalled, "and that's how my character came to have the name Sulu." Historically, Sulu was a Muslim sultanate founded in 1405 that in the 20th Century became part of the United States, until March 1915 when the Sultan abdicated. The island province of Sulu continued to be US territory until 1946, when as part of the Philippines, independence from the US was gained.

Philippine Sulu Soldiers Killed During Occupation of Lahad Datu Sabah Malaysia
On February 11, 2013 Philippine Sulu militants from Simunul island in Tawi-Tawi arrived illegally by boats in Lahad Datu, Sabah, on the Borneo island in Malaysia. 235 militants who said they were from the Royal Security Forces of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo were sent by Jamalul Kiram III who claims Sabah belongs to the heirs of the Sultanate of Sulu and him being one of the claimants to the throne, he considers it their lawful right to reside in northern Borneo.
Malaysian security forces have been stationed around the village of Tanduo where the group had gathered and while deadly clashes with casualties on both sides continue to occur, negotiations for the peaceful resolution are reportedly ongoing.

Sitti Jacel, the daughter of Jamalul Kiram III said her father's supporters went to Lahad Datu to reside on their ancestral territory, not to wage war with anyone. She added that they were determined not to leave unless a suitable solution to their claim to the territory was offered. Meanwhile, Malaysian authorities labelled the Royal Security Forces of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo a terrorist organization.
Muslim separatists from Mindanao, Philippines with headquarters in Sulu known as the Moro National Liberation Front promised to send thousands of soldiers to Sabah as reinforcements to the Sultanate of Sulu's militants. The Tausūg or Suluk people are an ethnic group of the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. The Tausūg are part of the wider political identity of Muslims of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan. Most of the Tausugs have converted into the religion of Islam whose members are now more known as the Moro group, who constitute the third largest ethnic group of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan. The Muslim Tausugs originally had an independent state known as the Sulu Sultanate, which once exercised sovereignty over the present day provinces of Basilan, Palawan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, the eastern part of the Malaysian state of Sabah (formerly North Borneo) and North Kalimantan in Indonesia.
