The Australia–Indonesia border is a maritime boundary running west from the two countries' tripoint maritime boundary with Papua New Guinea in the western entrance to the Torres Straits through the Arafura Sea and Timor Sea and terminating in the Indian Ocean. The boundary is, however, broken by the "Timor Gap", where Australian and East Timorese territorial waters meet and where the two countries have overlapping claims to the seabed.
Australia and Indonesia also share a common maritime border in the Indian Ocean between Australia's oversea territory of Christmas Island and the Indonesian island of Java.
An interesting characteristic of the maritime border between the two countries is the separation of the ownership of the seabed (essentially the continental shelf) and ownership of the water column (exclusive economic zone), each with their own boundary. Ownership over the seabed gives the country rights over all mineral resources in the seabed while ownership of the water column allows a country over fishing rights and other resources of the water in the specified area. The treaty establishing this and the western parts of the border as well as that between Christmas Island and Java, signed in 1997, has however not been ratified and is not in force. This was because the independence of East Timor required amendments to the 1997 treaty and agreement over them by the two parties is still pending.
In the song, the character Derek (who is featured in the story line of Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire)) attempts to convince his father, Arthur, of the great opportunities available in Australia, where there's "no drug addiction" and you can "surf like they do in the U.S.A." Derek's advertisement is compared to John Smith, who campaigned for America in a similar manner, by author Thomas Kitts.
The song also features a jam sequence lasting for approximately half the song, which is atypical for The Kinks. In the Australian single edit, this section is removed by editing an earlier section of the song into another section during a drum beat, which is then followed by a fade-out.
Australia is a chestnut colt with a narrow white blaze bred by the Newmarket-based Stanley House stud. Australia was sired by Galileo, a Derby winner himself who went on to become an outstanding breeding stallion, winning the title of champion sire on five occasions. Galileo had sired two previous Epsom Derby winners New Approach in 2007 and Ruler of the World in 2013. Australia's Dam Ouija Board won seven Group One races including the 2004 Epsom Oaks and was twice named European Horse of the Year. He is the fourth foal produced by Ouija Board and second to Galileo, Australia's older sister Filia Regina has had limited success with only a single victory in a handicap at Yarmouth. His half brother Our Voodoo Prince won 3 races in Britain before being sold and is currently in training with Chris Waller in Australia.
Indonesian territory is composed of 34 provinces. A province (Indonesian:provinsi) is the highest tier of the local government divisions of Indonesia (Daerah Tingkat I - level I region). Provinces are further divided into regencies and cities (Daerah Tingkat II - level II regions), which are in turn subdivided into districts (kecamatan).
Background
Each province has its own local government, headed by a governor, and has its own legislative body. The governor and members of local representative bodies are elected by popular vote for five-year terms.
Aceh, for the use of the sharia law as the regional law of the province.
Special Region of Yogyakarta, a sovereign monarchy within Indonesia with the sultan Hamengkubuwono as hereditary Governor and Paduka Sri Pakualam as hereditary vice-governor. SR Yogyakarta refused to call themselves as the province according to Law No. 03/1950 and No. 12/2012 about The Speciality of Special Region of Yogyakarta.
Papua Province (Indonesian:Provinsi Papua) is the largest and easternmost province of Indonesia. It lies in West Papua region, which comprises the Indonesian, western, half of the island of New Guinea and nearby islands. Papua is bordered by the nation of Papua New Guinea to the east, and by West Papua province to the west. Its capital is Jayapura. It was formerly called Irian Jaya (before that West Irian or Irian Barat) and comprised all of Indonesian New Guinea. In 2002 the current name was adopted and in 2003 West Papua province was created within West Papua region from western parts of Papua province.
Naming
"Papua" is the official Indonesian and internationally recognised name for the province.
During the Dutch colonial era the region was known as part of "Dutch New Guinea" or "Netherlands New Guinea". Since its annexation in 1969, it became known as "West Irian" or "Irian Barat" until 1973, and thereafter renamed "Irian Jaya" (roughly translated, "Glorious Irian") by the Suharto administration. This was the official name until the name "Papua" was adopted in 2002. Today, the indigenous inhabitants of this province prefer to call themselves Papuans.
The 2011 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 26th Southeast Asian Games (Indonesian:Pesta Olahraga Asia Tenggara 2011) was a multi-sport event held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from 11 to 22 November 2011 with 545 events in 44 sports and disciplines featured in the games. It was Indonesia's fourth time to host the Southeast Asian Games, the last time it hosted the Games was in 1997. Parallel to the Southeast Asian Games, the 2011 ASEAN Para Games for physically disabled athletes, begins 2 weeks after the 2011 Southeast Asian Games ends, with the competition held in Surakarta (Solo),Central Java, Indonesia.
The capital city of Jakarta has been the host of Southeast Asian Games for three times, namely in 1979, 1987, and 1997.
Palembang is the third SEA Games host city which is not the national capital, after Chiang Mai (1995) and Nakhon Ratchasima (2007), Thailand. Indonesia is the fifth nation to host the Southeast Asian Games after Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia and Singapore.

It's an invasion, there's no other word for it. Thousands of rogue trawlers descending from Indonesia, plundering our rich fishing grounds. And they're so brazen about it, making a mockery of the term "border security". True, the Navy's doing what it can, and the Federal Government's pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the fight. But, from what Tara Brown saw in a week on patrol with the Navy, it looks pretty grim. The sheer number of these pirates, the vast distances, the huge profits all conspire against us. And it's not just about fishing up north, the security and safety implications for the whole nation really are quite frightening.
