An astronaut or cosmonaut is a person trained by a human spaceflight program to command, pilot, or serve as a crew member of a spacecraft. Although generally reserved for professional space travelers, the terms are sometimes applied to anyone who travels into space, including scientists, politicians, journalists, and tourists.
Starting in the 1950s up to 2002, astronauts were sponsored and trained exclusively by governments, either by the military or by civilian space agencies. With the suborbital flight of the privately funded SpaceShipOne in 2004, a new category of astronaut was created: the commercial astronaut.
"Astronaut" is the third single that was taken from Simple Plan's fourth studio album, Get Your Heart On!. In December 2012, the song was played in orbit in space by astronaut Chris Hadfield.
Music video
The music video was directed by Mark Staubach and premiered on 19 September 2011. It was filmed in the desert of California. The clip opens with a message that read, "Being human is the most terrible loneliness in the universe" and continues to show a lone man exploring an empty space. He keeps looking around and around for something, or rather someone, to fill a void in his heart. The female lead for the clip is Caitlin O'Connor, a model/actress, who has previously played in music videos for Michael Bublé and New Found Glory.
The song was nominated in the category Best International Video by a Canadian band to 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards.
In the video, the man is seen with a name tag that says P. Cunningham. The same name was used for the drunk driver in the music video for "Untitled."
This was Duran Duran's first studio album since Pop Trash (2000), and the first (and, to date, last) full album since Seven and the Ragged Tiger (1983) to be recorded by the most famous five member lineup of the band (the stand-alone 1985 single "A View to a Kill" was their last studio recording together.)
The making of the album
Duran Duran originally announced a reunion of the most famous five members in 2001, and began writing new music together in the south of France. They continued to write and record intermittently, working hard for a few months at a time, throughout 2002 and 2003. The band's friend Nile Rodgers did preliminary production work on several tracks.
Meanwhile, the search for a record label went on, complicated by the band's desire for independence, control, strong promotional support, and a commitment for more than one album, at the same time that the cash-strapped and risk-averse recording industry was unwilling to gamble on the "leftover fame" of a band best known for a series of 20-year-old hits.
The LGBT community has adopted certain symbols for self-identification which demonstrate unity, pride, shared values, and allegiance to one another. LGBTQsymbols communicate ideas, concepts, and identity both within their communities and to mainstream culture. The two most-recognized international LGBTQ symbols are the pink triangle and the rainbow flag. The pink triangle, employed by the Nazis in World War II as a badge of shame, was re-appropriated but retained negative connotations. The rainbow flag, previously used as a symbol of unity between all people, was adopted to be a more organic and natural replacement without any negativity attached to it.
Triangles used for persecution during the Nazi regime
One of the oldest of these symbols is the pink triangle, which originated from the Nazi concentration camp badges that male homosexuals were required to wear on their clothing. Many of the estimated 5–15,000 gay men and lesbian women imprisoned in concentration camps died during the Holocaust. For this reason, the pink triangle is used as an identification symbol and as a memento to remind both its wearers and the general public of the atrocities that gays suffered under Nazi persecutors. AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT-UP) adopted the inverted pink triangle to symbolize the "active fight back" against HIV/AIDS "rather than a passive resignation to fate."
Lambda is the official English student newspaper at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. It is directly funded from the student fees paid to the Student General Association (SGA), Laurentian University's full-time student union, although the newspaper's charter explicitly prevents the SGA from exerting editorial control of any kind over it.
Lambda is distributed bi-weekly on Tuesdays and is available around the Laurentian University campus, as well as partner distributors throughout the city.
The Lambda offices currently reside on the third floor of the Parker building.
History
Lambda began publication in 1961 at Laurentian University. The newspaper then consisted of 6 staff members which included the Editor-in-Chief, Financial Director, Assistant Editor, Arts and Entertainment Editor, Sports Editor, and Science and Technology Editor.
For the 2010/11 school year, Lambda's masthead and layout were completely redesigned with a fresh, slightly grungy aesthetic.
Lambda (written λ, in lowercase) is a nonstandard metric unit of volume equal to 10−9 m3, 1 cubic millimeter (mm3) or 1 microlitre (µL). Introduced by the BIPM in 1880, the lambda has been used in chemistry and in medicine for measuring small volumes, but its use is no longer recommended.
This use of λ parallels the pre-SI use of µ on its own for a micrometre and γ for a microgram. Although the use of λ is deprecated, some clinical laboratories continue to use it. The standard abbreviation µL for a microlitre has the disadvantage that it can be misread as mL (a unit 1000 times larger), and in pharmaceutical use no abbreviation for a microlitre is considered safe; recommended practice is to write "microlitre" in full.

Release Info:
microCastle's second offering of 2019 welcomes Speaking In Tongues to the label for their debut EP. Conceptualized by long time friends Miguel Angel and Philip Anthony, Speaking In Tongues was a project born out of love for cutting edge electronic music. Originally meeting almost 20 years ago, after Miguel's move from Colombia to Philip's hometown of Los Angeles, the two spent a great deal of time together in various capacities, many of these aligned through a joint musical appreciation. Speaking In Tongues is meant to capture and embrace that cohesive fusion and spread it across the airwaves. The duo's creative vision has seen them land releases on TAU, Atlant Recordings and My Favorite Robot, while their recent remix of Kauf's 'Let It Slide' was aired by Ko?lsch on BBC Radio One. Now presenting their first EP project of 2019, Speaking In Tongues make their microCastle debut with 'Sabbath', alongside remixes from Mathias Schober and Zombies In Miami.
The 'Sabbath' collection is a transcendent blend of desert, eastern and indie-dance motifs, further reinforcing the duo's nomadic style. Beginning with the deep, cross cultural themes of the title track, the EP then shifts energy to the modular intensity and oriental motifs of 'Mood Swing', before eventually melting down into the pulsating, indie-esque psychedelia that is 'Eraser'. An expansive collection from the Los Angeles duo, one which draws on a variety of inspirations and thus resonates on multiple levels, as they describe.
