Amesville was laid out in 1837. The village derives its name from Sylvanus and Nabby Lee Ames, pioneer landowners. A post office called Amesville has been in operation since 1820.
Amesville is situated in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, approximately 45 miles south by southeast of the terminal moraine, a topographical feature often associated with the boundaries of glaciers, and is surrounded by wooded hills, narrow valleys, and numerous creeks flanked by lowland pastures and farmland.
These features are largely indicative of the areas in the State of Ohio that fall to the south of the terminal moraine. The terminal moraine in the State of Ohio, and to the north of Amesville, effectively serves to bisect the state along a line running on a west to east axis across the south by southeastern third of Ohio thereby contributing to certain distinctive topographical, socio-economic, and cultural attributes on either side of this feature.
LUMA is a project by Dave Clark from Glasgow. Dave had his first release as a member of State Of Flux in 1993 on T&B vinyl, the label Twitch ran with his dj partner of that era, Brainstorm. Twitch and Dave have continued to work together in various ways ever since - He has released records as Truffle Club and Big Ned on Optimo Music and worked with Twitch from 2005 - 2010 remixing a plethora of artists under the Optimo (Espacio) moniker before fatherhood necessitated him focusing on changing nappies rather than programming synths. Dave has also recorded under various aliases for R&S, Numbers, Stuffrecords, Dissident and Wireblock.
The twentieth anniversary of that first release seemed a fitting date for Dave to unleash his monster new club music alter ego, LUMA on Optimo Trax. Twitch thin...

My farthest storm chase ever to West Virginia!! (4K)
On June 23, 2024, I embarked on my farthest storm chase ever to West Virginia! That day, there was a Slight Risk for that area. Initially, I planned to head only to Central Ohio, around the Lancaster area. However, storms were stronger further Southeast, so I decided to keep going. South of Lancaster, I encountered a beautiful storm and decided to intercept it. Unfortunately, it didn't do much besides bringing heavy rain.
After leaving that storm, I waited in Southeastern Ohio for a little bit to see if any of the showers/storms intensified, but sadly, none of them did except for one storm pushing into New Martinville, West Virginia. Despite the hour and a half drive, I decided to chase it as there was nothing promising in the area I was in. However, upon reaching New Martinville, the sto...

The twentieth anniversary of that first release seemed a fitting date for Dave to unleash his monster new club music alter ego, LUMA on Optimo Trax. Twitch thinks Dave is the best producer in Scotland and endlessly weeps into his gin and tonics about how unprolific Dave is, so was ecstatic when the 4 killer tracks were delivered that make up this third Optimo Trax EP.
These have been thoroughly road tested over the last few months at gigs around the world.
All tracks written and produced by D. Clark, Glasgow 2013.
Optimo Trax OT 003 Released on 12" and digital November 2013. Distribution by Kompakt and Rub A Dub.

Despite the hour and a half drive, I decided to chase it as there was nothing promising in the area I was in. However, upon reaching New Martinville, the storm didn't look too impressive, so I chose to leave it and head towards another storm, an hour south of my location. Unfortunately, that storm didn't last long, and I thought the chase was over.
During my return to Ohio, I noticed that the storms I was initially considering had intensified and started producing lots of lightning, but they were too far away for me to reach. However, there was another storm north of me in Ohio that had also begun producing lightning. This convinced me to chase that one and head to Amesville, Ohio, for a target spot. I hadn't realized that Amesville is in the mountains, making it particularly challenging to chase the storm. Nevertheless, I found a decent spot to wait for the storm to pass me. Regrettably, this storm didn't produce much lightning, and when it moved over me, it weakened.
After the storm passed by, it began producing a decent amount of lightning again. However, I had no signal to check the radar and determine its strength. Due to the lack of connectivity and my location, I decided to leave the storm and head back home, bringing the chase to an end. Thanks for watching!
