Anne Baxter Bared It All for the Ten Commandments (Audiences Saw Everything)
Did you know that Cecil B. DeMille insisted on Anne Baxter being cast in The Ten Commandments as Queen Nefertari and that the actress felt that she wasn’t right for the part? By the time Anne Baxter was cast as Queen Nefertari in The Ten Commandments, the actress had already been working in the entertainment industry for over two decades. In my opinion: these are really the best 40 movies ever made!!! Unfortunately I forgot to mention some movies like INTO THE WILD, LIFE OF PI or SHUTTER ISLAND (or INTERSTELLAR cause it came out after I've created this video)... BUT:
Movies like LORD OF THE RINGS, STAR WARS, FIGHT CLUB, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN, 300, MAGNOLIA etc. or the whole old stuff like PSYCHO, CASABLANCA, CITIZEN KANE, 12 ANGRY MEN, THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY (entire Dollar-Trilogy),VERTIGO, CLOCKWORK ORANGE, ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST, THE KID, MODERN TIMES, THE GREAT DICTATOR, SEVEN SAMURAI, RAGING BULL, SHINING, JAWS, 2001 etc. etc. etc. most of them are great, even very great, of course!!! AND YES I've seen them all!!! But in my opinion, they can not be counted among the 40 best movies of all time only cause they are old, classic and have good ratings TODAY, most of them from people older than 60!!! Why am I emphasizing TODAY? Cause many of these todays "Big Classics" were nothing special at their time, some even have been hated and only many many years later and mostly after the death of the director they become classics!!! So what is the fault of the todays directors whose masterpieces came after the Hitchcocks, Kubricks & Co.?! Who can say what people gonna think about Nolan, Spielberg, Fincher, Cameron & Co. in 20, 30, 40 years (if they are even today legends)? Then their movies of the last years become classics! So what? In contrast to many of you, I have my own opinion and I'm not being influenced and impressed by the years and the todays status of a movie, what only additionally do manipulate and raise up the value and impression of it! And by the way... all the movies of my list have everywhere !!!extreme high!!! ratings too... you can check it yourself (for example at IMDb)!!!
PS
I'm not really a Kubrick, Lynch or Hitchcock fan! (AND YES I've watched many of their movies!)
AND OFFENSIVE OR CRUDE COMMENTS WILL BE DELETED IMMEDIATELY!!! YOU CAN ALSO ARGUE AND CRITICIZE IN A DECENT WAY!!!
And for the critics here are the IMDb (by far the most credible rating stage) ratings of my movies:
Memento: 8,5
The Lion King: 8,5
Jurassic Park 8,1
The Exorcist: 8,0
The Last Samurai: 7,7 (lil bit underrated, could be an 8,0 as well!)

Anne got her start on the stage before an unfortunate incident that occurred while she was acting alongside Katharine Hepburn inspired her to head out to Hollywood. Katharine thought that Anne wasn’t a good enough actress for the stage, so Anne tried films instead.

Once in Hollywood, it didn’t take very long for Anne to be signed with a studio. The actress signed her first studio contract at the age of only 16. Anne was signed with 20th Century Fox, the studio wasn’t afraid to lend her out to other production companies. Anne made her big-screen debut with her fourth-billed part in 1940’s 20 Mule Team. Following this debut appearance, Anne could be seen in several other pictures over the next few years before finally becoming a breakout star during the mid-1940s. During the days of World War II, Anne claimed that she received almost as many fan letters from soldiers as Betty Grable did.
In 1946, Anne Baxter appeared in the film The Razor’s Edge. Thanks to her performance in the film, the actress won an Academy Award. Finally, Anne Baxter was as critically acclaimed as she was commercially successful. Anne entered into the 1950s with a bang thanks to her titular performance in the film All About Eve, though it would be her performance in Cecil B. DeMille’s 1956 biblical epic The Ten Commandments that would become the most iconic of her career. This comes in spite of the fact that Anne felt her turn in The Razor’s Edge was the most dramatically successful of her many performances. Join Facts Verse as we explore how Anne Baxter bared all for The Ten Commandments.

Jurassic Park 8,1

Continuing on with our Top 10 War Film series, we’re moving on to the 1860s to look at the ten best films depicting the American Civil War. Bear in mind we are solely focussing on theatrical movies for this list, so television shows and films like 'Andersonville' and 'North and South' won't be featured.

So to celebrate 100K Subscribers, here’s a small video of the 50 Greatest Films I have ever seen.
These are different from my favourite 50 films. What differentiates both lists is that my favourite movies are solely based on my taste and how much I like to re-watch them; the greatest ones I believe, hold greater cinematic value when gauged against the historical development of the medium. These films are the ones that have the highest cinematic quality in terms of their medium specificity, narrative and cinematic innovation and relevance along with historical and cultural legacy. There are a lot of films in common with my favourite list. It also contains movies that I acknowledge are among the greatest, but I don’t necessarily enjoy them. It’s like you know how particular food has excellent nutritional value, but you still don’t like eating it.
Of course, I haven’t seen every single film ever made. These 50 are from all the movies I have seen so far. You will find films common to many such lists, along with some bold additions. From 50 to 11, films are arranged based on their release year. From 10 to 1 is an ordered list I consider to be the greatest 10.
