Altoona is a city in central Pennsylvania Blair County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is the principal city of the Altoona Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). The population was 46,320 at the time of the 2010 Census, making it the tenth most populous city in Pennsylvania. The Altoona MSA includes all of Blair County and was recorded as having a population of 127,089 at the 2010 Census, around 100,000 of which live within a 5-mile (8.0km) radius of the Altoona city center according to U.S. Census zip code population data. This includes the adjacent boroughs of Hollidaysburg and Duncansville, adjacent townships of Logan, Allegheny, Blair, Frankstown, Antis, and Tyrone, as well as nearby boroughs of Bellwood and Newry.
Pennsylvania is Pere Ubu's eleventh studio album. The album marks Tom Herman's return to Pere Ubu's studio work after a twenty-year absence.
Director's Cut
In 2005, to celebrate Pere Ubu's 30th Anniversary, a "Director's Cut" was released which featured new mastering, alternate mixes, and two bonus tracks. David Thomas explains: "The point of doing a Director's Cut is to benefit from that older and wiser thing. I reviewed all alternate mixes from the session, sometimes discovering that an earlier mix turned out to be superior to the chosen mix. As well, 10 years later, we have access to improved mastering technology. Consequently, there is a greater clarity and cohesion to the Director's Cut. We are not going to make both versions available. The Director's Cut is the way it's supposed to be. Period."
"Pennsylvania" is the official state song of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The song was written and composed by Eddie Khoury and Ronnie Bonner and serves as the official song for all public purposes. State Representative Frank L. Oliver introduced the bill for the song, and it was adopted by the General Assembly and signed into law by GovernorRobert P. Casey on November 29, 1990.

Gateway to Western Pennsylvania | Altoona, PA
Our Atlantic-Appalachia Tour has come to an end, and for our final destination we halt at a familiar environment, Pennsylvania. This time though, we explore a city located in the Keystone State's western half, a city whose history has long been about connecting the two halves of the state. This area developed as a railroad hub, where at the time, efficient freight transportation was difficult to come by. Although the glory days of the railroad have waned a bit, a variety of other industry has blessed this city. Watch as we get the opportunity to discover all there is to Altoona, the mountainous Pennsylvanian city with a blue collar charm!

Visit the Railroader's Memorial Museum, with the main campus located in Altoona, and the RMM also operates this public area here at the Curve: http://www.railroadcity.org/
The Museum is seeking donations towards some groundskeeping needs (primarily tree trimming and related upkeep) which would also benefit our stream by keeping branches from interfering with our wireless connections. If you would like to help out, please go to this link https://railroadcity.square.site/donate (check the MAINTENANCE box)
We encourage viewers to become members of the museum. Your support means we can better preserve our industrial heritage: Membership link: https://railroadcity.square.site/memberships

Location Covered: Altoona, PA ✅
