Substance abuse, also known as drug abuse, is a patterned use of a drug in which the user consumes the substance in amounts or with methods which are harmful to themselves or others, and is a form of substance-related disorder. Widely differing definitions of drug abuse are used in public health, medical and criminal justice contexts.
The exact cause of substance abuse is not clear, with theories including: a genetic disposition; learned from others - or a habit which if addiction develops, manifests as a chronic debilitating disease.
In some cases criminal or anti-social behavior occurs when the person is under the influence of a drug, and long term personality changes in individuals may occur as well. In addition to possible physical, social, and psychological harm, use of some drugs may also lead to criminal penalties, although these vary widely depending on the local jurisdiction.
a) for restricting the availability of such drugs or supervising the arrangements for their supply;
b) for enabling persons affected by the misuse of such drugs to obtain proper advice, and for securing the provision of proper facilities and services for the treatment, rehabilitation and aftercare of such persons;
c) for promoting co-operation between the various professional and community services which in the opinion of the Council have a part to play in dealing with social problems connected with the misuse of drugs;
d) for educating the public (and in particular the young) in the dangers of misusing such drugs and for giving publicity to those dangers;
e) for promoting research into, or otherwise obtaining information about, any matter which in the opinion of the Council is of relevance for the purpose of preventing the misuse of such drugs or dealing with any social problem connected with their misuse.

What is Family Advisory Council? | Nemours Children's Health
At Nemours, “family-centered care” means putting your child and family first in everything we do. To help us make meaningful improvements for all of the children we see and their families, we rely on our family advisory councils to help create new services, streamline our processes, and even weigh in on who we hire and how to build a better place to care for children.
Made up of parents, many who have children with chronic or complex health issues, the Family Advisory Council (FAC) provides insight on what families want most, such as care that keeps family at the center of everything we do — through their feedback, recommendations about processes, participation through various hospital committees and more.

I was born again in a foreign place with my pupils wide and my friends on stage It was a warmth I had not had the pleasure to face And when the music fades the kids could care less It's a mockery of the time we spent So I crept into a hole where I could rest You can paint me a junkie, it's quite alright I've got all the drugs in the world I've got all the drugs in the world I was bound and gagged and held to the flames And you expect me to try to entertain this curtain of humans who always knew my name So I wrote new songs and we danced for nights And we smoked it all 'til the bag was dry I part the doors and creep back into the light You can paint me a junkie, it's quite alright I've got all the drugs in the world I've got all the drugs in the world You can have me anyway you want me, my body is yours I've got all the love in the world I've got all the love in the world I've got all the love in the world I've got all the love in the world I've got all the love in the world
