Collins grew up in Arkansas and sang in church. After three years in a gospel group in Michigan, he moved to California. There he joined a spiritual group called the Santa Monica Soul Seekers (whose members later became the Cadets/the Jacks). Collins is best known as being a singer with the doo wop groups the Cadets, the Jacks, and the Flares. The Cadets are best known for their hit "Stranded in the Jungle" in 1956. The Jacks' biggest hit was "Why Don't You Write Me?" in 1955. "Foot Stomping" was the Flares' big hit in 1961. The lead vocals in these groups were usually done by Aaron Collins, Willie Davis, or Will "Dub" Jones. While Collins was still a member of the Cadets and the Jacks, a solo album was released in 1957 called Calypso USA. Two recordings from this album, "Pretty Evey" and "Rum Jamaica Rum", were released as a single by Aaron Collins and the Cadets in 1957. These recordings were actually by Collins and a white studio group and not the Cadets.
Aaron represented Waikato province agaiinst the British and Irish Lions in 1993. At the time Collins was playing for Hamilton Old Boys. Collins is one of the select players to have played for four New Zealand provinces: Poverty Bay, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and King Country. He played in New Zealand between 1991 and 1997.
By virtue of a grandfather born in Blackburn, West Lothian - Aaron Collins was Scottish-Qualified - and in 1994 he was also playing in Scotland for Glasgow Academicals. He was to play for a Scotland Sevens side named Rugby Ecosse in 1998 in the Air France International Sevens scoring a try against Argentina Sevens side.
Collins was a part of the Bristol City academy before joining the Newport County academy. In 2014, he nearly left the academy after not being offered a scholarship. Unable to afford the costs of travelling each day, Collins took a job in McDonald's in Malpas. However, academy coach Mike Flynn later intervened and Collins was offered his first professional contract with the club soon after. Then Newport manager Jimmy Dack described Collins as "a young George Boyd".
Collins was handed his first place in a matchday squad as an unused substitute for Newport aged 17 in a Football League Two match versus Shrewsbury Town on 20 September 2014. Collins made his senior debut for Newport aged 17 in a Football League Trophy first round match versus Swindon Town on 23 September 2014 as a first half replacement for Mike Flynn. However, his debut was cut short when the ball hit him in the face and he too had to be substituted. Swindon won the game 2–1. In January 2015, Collins joined Merthyr Town on loan, making his only appearance as a substitute in a 2–1 win over Clevedon Town. Collins made his football league debut on 18 April 2015 as a second-half substitute in the League Two match versus Dagenham & Redbridge. He scored his first competitive goal for Newport on 15 August 2015 in a League Two match versus Stevenage during a 2–2 draw. In the final week of the transfer window in August 2015, Football League Championship side Burnley submitted two bids for Collins, the last being £65,000 plus potential future add-ons, both of which were rejected by Newport.

St. Martin's of Cologne
A Benedictine, Scotus was the abbot of St. Martin, Cologne, Germany in the year 1042. He pilgrimaged in his youth to Colonia to the Gaelic-Irish convent of St. Martin. He became abbot of the same in 1042. He was identified with Aaron, abbot of St. Pantaleon. Today historians reject this identification.
Work as a composer
It is believed that he first introduced the Gregorian evening service (nocturns) into Germany. He authored two historically important treaties: De utilitate cantus vocalis et de modo cantandi atque psallendi and De regulis tonorum et symphoniarum. The library of St. Martin, Cologne conserves his work Tractatum de utilitate cantus vocalis et de modo cantandi atque psallendi. He wrote three musical treatises, all of which have been lost.
