Leon Jackson (born 30 December 1988) is a Scottish singer. He won the fourth series of British talent show The X Factor in 2007. Following his win, Jackson was the main star of his on-web series entitled Leon's Life, which ran from 2007 until 2008. Jackson's début album, Right Now (2008) finished the year as the 75th best-selling album in the UK, and included the singles, "Don't Call This Love", "Creative" and "Stargazing".
Jackson's debut single, "When You Believe", a cover of a song sung by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey and composed and written by Stephen Schwartz, sold over 400,000 copies, and was the 92nd best-selling single of the 2000s in the UK, and was the third best-selling of 2007. Jackson had the best selling single from a British Male Artist in 2007 beating the likes of Mika, Take That and Mark Ronson in the best-selling male category, and being beaten by Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love" and Rihanna's "Umbrella" to the number one and number two positions, respectively.
"A Song for You" is a song written and originally recorded by rock singer and pianist Leon Russell for his first solo album Leon Russell, which was released in 1970 on Shelter Records. A slow, pained plea for forgiveness and understanding from an estranged lover, the tune is one of Russell's best-known compositions. It has been performed and recorded by an array of artists, spanning many musical genres. Elton John has called the song an American classic.
A Song for You is the fourth album released by the Carpenters, released on June 13, 1972. According to Richard Carpenter, "A Song for You was intended to be a concept album (of sorts) with the title tune opening and closing the set and the bookended selections comprising the 'song'."
In Cash Box's Top 100 Albums of 1972, A Song for You was ranked number 26.
"Hurting Each Other", a cover of an obscure Ruby & the Romantics tune, was the first single issued from A Song for You in early 1972, and reached number two, becoming the Carpenters' sixth straight gold single. A cover of Carole King's "It's Going to Take Some Time" followed and peaked at number 12, and was followed by the number seven hit "Goodbye to Love", which was refused airplay on some easy listening radio stations because of a fuzz guitar solo by Tony Peluso. The song had a significant impact on the power ballad songs which followed. The album also included the Carpenters' version of the Academy Award nominated title song from the 1971 film Bless the Beasts and Children, which had already charted at number 67 on the Hot 100 as the flip side of the duo's version of "Superstar".

Many nights we’ve prayed, With no proof anyone could hear. In our hearts a hopeful song, We barely understood. Now we are not afraid, Although we know there’s much to fear. We were moving mountains long, Before we knew we could. There can be miracles, When you believe. Though hope is frail, It’s hard to kill. Who knows what miracles, You can achieve. When you believe, Some how you will. You will when you believe. Easy to despair, When all you hear is fear and lies. Easy just to run and hide, To frightened to begin. But if we dare to dare, Don’t wait for answers from the sky. Each of us can look inside, And hear this song within. They don’t always happen when, you ask. And it’s easy to give in, to your fear. But when you blinded by your faith, Can’t see your way clear through the rain, A small but still resilient voice; Says hope is very near. Ohhhhh. There can be miracles, When you believe. Though hope is frail, It's hard to kill. Who knows what miracles, You can achieve. When you believe, Some how you will. . . How you will You will when you believe.
