Pulcheria: Princess, Empress, Saint ~ As described by the 5th century historian, Sozomen
The daughter of the Eastern emperor Arcadius, Pulcheria (AD 398-453) was the granddaughter of Theodosius the Great, the last man to rule the combined Roman Empire.
When her father Arcadius died, Pulcheria was a mere 10 years old. Her brother, Theodosius II the heir to the throne, was only 8. At the age of 15, Pulcheria became regent for her brother and was named Augusta or Empress. This excerpt from The Ecclesiastical History of Sozomen was written circa AD 445 during Pulcheria's life.

Mars, Romulus, & The Founding of Rome (Roman Mythology Explained)
While many of the myths of Roman gods are of Greek origin, the tales surrounding Romulus, Mars and the founding of Rome give us important insights into an original Roman mythology.
- Once when I refer to Varro, I actually meant Livy. Livy's History confirms the apotheosis of Romulus, and even his appearance to Iulius Proculus, but does not refer to him as Quirinus. Varro also does not call Romulus Quirinus, but his complete history does not survive intact.

He Got Executed By His Own Invention : The brazen Bull "The Terrifying Device " #shorts
The brazen bull, also known as the bronze bull, Sicilian bull, or bull of Phalaris, was a torture and execution device designed in ancient Greece. According to Diodorus Siculus, recounting the story in Bibliotheca historica, Perilaus (or Perillus) of Athens invented and proposed it to Phalaris, the tyrant of Akragas, Sicily, as a new means of executing criminals. The bull was said to be hollow and made entirely out of bronze with a door in one side. According to legends, the brazen bull was designed in the form and size of an actual bull and had an acoustic apparatus that converted screams into the sound of a bull.
