Expedition Robinson 2001, was the fifth edition of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden, airing in 2001. Prior to filming, the public was asked to choose two contestants, from a pool of six, that would join the game as jokers and coaches for their respective teams. Following the vote, both Bo Jonsson and Sara Aldrin entered the game. The major twist for this season was the tribal swap that took place after the duel in episode three. This season also saw the first "pre-first" vote exit which was taken by Maria Kjellström. The second twist of the season was introduced when it was time for the jury to vote: each finalist was allowed to pick three of the last nine contestants eliminated to vote for a winner. The other three votes would come from the public. Ultimately, it was Jan Emanuel Johansson who won the season with a jury vote of 7-2 over Jan Dinkelspiel. All three public votes went to Jan Emanuel Johansson.
Expedition Robinson 1999, was the third edition of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden and it aired in 1999. The major twist this season was that the contestants were initially divided up into four tribes based on their gender. Like in the previous season, when a tribe lost immunity the other tribe would be allowed to vote one of the members of the losing tribe out. Also the joker twist was brought back for this edition. The 'joker' this season was Douglas Svedberg. The dominant alliance this season was that of the West team's Jerker, Jesus, Klas, and Robert, who all managed to make it to the final four. Eventually Jerker Dalman won the season with a jury vote of 5-4 over Klas Granström, who was initially the third person voted off the show, but was allowed to return after winning a challenge against Deniz following Susanna's ejection from the game.
Robinson: 2009, was the tenth version of Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in Sweden and it premiered on 21 March 2009 and was the first season of the show to air since the show's initial cancellation in 2005. As a twist this season there were initially no tribes, instead contestants had to earn a spot on a tribe by surviving a challenge and the first tribal council. Another twist was that some of the contestants would have to compete in duels in order to avoid elimination. Ellenor Pierre eventually went on to win the season with a jury vote of 4-3 over Jarmo Heinonen.
Expedition Robinson 1997 was the first version of Expedition Robinson, or Survivor as it is referred to in some countries, to air in the world. This season premiered on 13 September 1997. Martin Merlin became the winner on 13 December 1997, with a jury vote of 6-2 over Runner-Up Kent Larsen. Despite being the premiere season, the first season was the lowest rated season of the original seven having only garnered around 1.2 million viewers for most of its regular episodes and 2.3 million viewers for its final episode. A major controversy occurred during this season when the first person voted out, Sinisa Savija, committed suicide a month after returning home from the island. Because of this, the first episode to air covered the events between the time when the contestants first arrived on the island and the second elimination. Following the success of the first season, Åsa Vilbäck, Kent Larsen, and Martin Melin all became well known in Sweden.
Robinson: La Gran Aventura 2001, was the first season of the Venezuelan version of the Swedish show Expedition Robinson and it aired 2001. This season took place on an island in Malaysia. During the premerge portion of the game, the
teams proved to be equally strong. When it came time to merge, a twist was added to the game. This twist would allow for the person who had immunity at any given tribal council to break any tie votes. At the first post merge tribal council both the former North team and former South team members stayed loyal to their original tribes which led to a tie in votes. As Gabriel Pérez from the South team had immunity he cast his vote to eliminate former North team member Nelson. Following this initial tribal council, the South team began to pick off the remaining members of the North team one by one until only six contestants were left in the game when two of the former South team members along with the remaining North team members voted for the leader of the South team alliance Darío González which eventually led to his elimination. When it came time for the final four the contestants took part in two challenges in order to determine who would make the final two. Gabriel Pérez won the first of these challenges and advanced to the final two while Verónica Pinto was eliminated for losing the challenge. Antonio Tranchino won the second challenge and also advanced to the final two while Annalisse "Ana" Acosta lost and became the final member of the jury. Ultimately, it was Gabriel Pérez who won this season over Antonio Tranchino with a jury vote of 6-1.
