The 1995 UEFA Champions League Final was the 40th edition and took place in Vienna between AFC Ajax and A.C. Milan. It was Milan's third European Cup final in three years and they were aiming to tie Real Madrid's record of having won the European Cup six times. After 85 minutes the deadlock was broken when Frank Rijkaard, a former Milan player found Patrick Kluivert with just enough space in the penalty area to lose his two markers and slot the ball past Milan keeper Sebastiano Rossi.
This was the first final aired by private broadcasters and not by EBU, and the first year that shirts with sponsoring were worn in the European Cup final.
Road to final
* Milan were docked two points for crowd trouble against Casino Salzburg on Matchday Two.
Both teams had to pass through five rounds before they reached the final. They both entered in the third qualifying round and won their respective groups before they reached the knockout stage, where matches were contested over two legs, with a match at each team's home ground. Milan's victories varied from close affairs to comfortable victories. They defeated Celtic by a single goal over two legs, while they beat Manchester United 5–3 on aggregate in the semi-final. Liverpool's matches were mainly all close affairs; they beat defending champions Barcelona on the away goals rule in the first knockout round and beat Chelsea in a penalty shootout in the semi-finals, although they did record a 4–0 aggregate win over PSV Eindhoven in the quarter-finals.
Karl-Heinz Riedle put Dortmund ahead finishing from inside the six yard box after Paul Lambert's cross. Riedle then made it two with a header from a corner kick from the right.
In the second half, Juventus forwardAlessandro Del Piero, who had come on as a substitute, scored via a back-heel from a cross by Alen Bokšić to make the score 2–1.
20-year-old substitute and Dortmund local boy Lars Ricken latched on to a through-pass by Andreas Möller only 16 seconds after coming onto the pitch. Ricken chipped Angelo Peruzzi in the Juve goal from over 20 yards with his first touch of the ball, to make it 3–1 for Dortmund. Ricken's goal was the fastest ever by a substitute in said event.

Ajax ● Road to Victory - 1995
1995 was the year that Louis van Gaal's young and talented Ajax won the biggest trophy possible. Ajax had a great team full of incredibly talented players like Seedorf, Litmanen and Frank de Boer. It was the last European success of Ajax. In 2019 they were close to reaching the final again. Can Ajax lift the trophy of Europe's biggest competition again?

Juventus vs Ajax | Champions league final 1995-1996 HD | All Goals & Highlights
The 1996 Champions League final between Ajax and Juventus was a tie to capture the imagination. Louis van Gaal and Marcello Lippi were two of the game's best managers, leading two of Europe's most captivating sides.
The Dutch were the reigning European champions. Their run of 19 games unbeaten came to an end in the semi-final, but with a squad full of talent—Edwin van der Sar, Danny Blind, Edgar Davids, Marc Overmars and Patrick Kluivert to name but a few.
Their opponents were no slouches, either. Ciro Ferrara, Didier Deschamps, Antonio Conte and Gianluca Vialli were all at the height of their powers, and a young Alessandro Del Piero was very much in the ascendancy.
