The .338 Lapua Magnum (8.6×70mm or 8.58×70mm) is a rimless, bottlenecked, centerfirecartridge developed for military long-range sniper rifles. The Afghanistan War and Iraq War made it a combat-proven round with ready and substantial ammunition availability. The .338 Lapua is a dual-purpose, anti-personnel and anti-materiel round, but its anti-materiel potential is limited, due to the bullet's lower kinetic energy compared with that of the .50 BMG's 35.64-to-55.08-gram (550.0 to 850.0gr) projectiles. The loaded cartridge is 14.93mm (0.588in) in diameter (rim) and 93.5mm (3.68in) long. It can penetrate better-than-standard military body armour at ranges up to 1,000 metres (1,090yd) and has a maximum effective range of about 1,750 metres (1,910yd). Muzzle velocity is dependent on load and powder temperature, and varies from 880 to 915m/s (2,890 to 3,000ft/s) for commercial loads with 16.2-gram (250gr) bullets, which results in about 6,525J (4,813ft·lbf) of muzzle energy.
It is located next to the Lapua River in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southern Ostrobothniaregion. The town has a population of 14,723
(30 June 2015) and covers an area of 750.77 square kilometres (289.87sqmi) of
which 13.67km2 (5.28sqmi) is water. The population density is 19.97 inhabitants per square kilometre (51.7/sqmi). The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
Lapua is also home to a large ammunition factory, which commenced operations in 1927 as the State Cartridge Factory. This factory was the primary supplier of ammunition to the Finnish Army during the Winter War and World War II. An explosion occurred in a warehouse of this factory on 13 April 1976, resulting in the deaths of 40 employees, mainly females. Sixty children lost a parent in the disaster. This is the worst accidental disaster in Finland's modern history. After the explosion, the factory was relocated 5 kilometres (3mi) away from the town centre and continues production today as part of the Nordic Ammunition Group (Nammo) as Nammo Lapua. The original site of the factory and the surviving buildings are now an arts centre, a library and a theater.

My New Long Range .338 Lapua Magnum Rifle! (Shooting Over 1 Mile)
Man I'm pumped about this one! This is my new custom long range precision rifle and also my first ever .338 Lapua Magnum build. So what is it? Here we go, Alamo Precision Rifles put together a 26" Bartlein MTU barrel with AAC 90T muzzle brake and Defiance Rukus Tactical action. They also installed the awesome Trigger Tech Diamond 2-stage trigger. APR also went ahead and cerakoted the assembly in FDE. Once I received it, I dropped it into my Accuracy International AICS AX chassis. I'm using a WieBad Gear cheek piece, B&T Atlas Bipod, and short action precision 2 round holder. Optic setup is the amazing Vortex Razor HD II 4.5-27x56 with Horus H59 reticle & Vortex Precision Matched 34mm rings. Lastly, I'm using the US Optics side folder bubble leveler. And that's the build! In this video we go through it and stretch it out to 2,000 yards with Hornady 285gr ELD-M. Really looking forward to getting my suppressor so we can go again but more "quietly." I've shown off the Barrett MRAD in the past but mostly as a .300 Win Mag. It's now a .338 Lapua Magnum and I'm running it suppressed. I was wanting to bring it out anyways so I figured, why not take a couple cameras along with me? Hope y'all enjoy!

I know she's gone again I saw her walking up the track God only knows when she will be back The only thing I know as sure as Morning starts the day When she comes home again This is what they'll all say. Recycle Sally coming round again Recycle Sally we all know where you've been Recycle Sally why can't the fools see Recycle Sally Recycle Sally Recycle Sally That you recycle to me. Now Sally ain't about to start to get settled down She likes to circulate herself all around town She might get abused and crushed all out of shape
