Grisha-class corvette
The Albatros class (Russian: Альбатрос; NATO reporting name: Grisha) was a series of anti-submarine corvettes built by the Soviet Union between 1970 and 1990. These ships had a limited range and were used only in coastal waters. They were equipped with a variety of ASW weapons and an SA-N-4 surface-to-air missile launcher. All were fitted with retractable fin stabilizers. Russian type designation was Malyy Protivolodochnyy Korabl (Small Anti-Submarine Ship).

Chevrolet Corvette
The Chevrolet Corvette, known colloquially as the Vette, is a sports car manufactured by Chevrolet. The car has been produced through seven generations. The first model, a convertible, was introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Myron Scott is credited for naming the car after the type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette. Originally built in Flint, Michigan and St. Louis, Missouri, the Corvette is currently manufactured in Bowling Green, Kentucky and is the official sports car of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
History
First generation-C1 (1953–1962)
The first generation of Corvette was introduced late in the 1953 model year. Originally designed as a show car for the 1953 Motorama display at the New York Auto Show, it generated enough interest to induce GM to make a production version to sell to the public. First production was on June 30, 1953.
This generation was often referred to as the "solid-axle" models (the independent rear suspension was not introduced until the second generation). 300 hand-built polo white Corvette convertibles were produced for the 1953 model year.

Meet the new Corvette Z06!
It’s the hardcore, track-focused version of the regular C8 Corvette, and Mat’s about to find out just what’s changed over the standard car.
Starting with the design, there’s more than just some new badging to help the Z06 stand out from the regular C8. Up front there are some bigger air intakes (to help cool the bigger radiators) along with a larger, protruding splitter. Along the side the wheel arches stick out further to help house the larger & wider wheels, while there’s also extended side skirts and bigger air intakes. Then around the back, the twin tailpipes from the C8 have been brought together to make quad tailpipes in the centre of the car, and a gurney flap has also been added to the rear spoiler.
It’s a different story on the inside, though, with only a handful of changes to be found. The steering wheel now comes with Z06 badging, and it’s possible to upgrade it to include some carbon fibre. Some new figure-hugging sports seats have been added, and there are Z06 kick plates on either side… But that’s your lot! Otherwise, it’s the same as the regular C8.
But of course, the biggest change comes with the engine. Despite the Z06 having a smaller-sized engine than the C8 (with the 6.2-litre NA V8 swapping for a 5.5-litre NA V8), it has so much more power. You see, this is no regular V8… Chevrolet have taken a Ferrari 458 engine, reverse-engineered it, and given it 100hp more. As a result, the Z06 pumps out an eye-watering 670hp, making it the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 in the world!!
The Z06 starts from around $100,000, which is around $40,000 more than the regular C8 Corvette. So is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!

The third Corvette Project 20380 Aldar Tsydenzapov built for Russia's Pacific Fleet begins sea trials in the Sea of Japan. The warship is scheduled to enter service in the Russian Navy in December 2020, five years after it began construction.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, work on the corvette Gieroy Rossiya Aldar Tsydenjapov is going according to plan. This is the third project 20380 ship to be built for Russia's Pacific Fleet. All of these units were built at the Amur shipyard in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
Russia claims Project 20380 is a multipurpose and very complex corvette. Weighing only 2,200 tons, 104.5 m long and 13 m wide, Russia managed to integrate a very complex and diverse ship system, enabling the corvette to effectively combat surface and air targets, as well as underwater targets.
The most severe construction difficulty on the corvette is that it uses a stealth structure design, thereby significantly reducing the physical area of the corvette.

The Russian Gepard-class frigates (Project 1166.1) is a class of frigates that were intended as successors to the earlier Koni-class frigates and Grisha, and Parchim-class corvettes. The first unit of the class, Yastreb (Hawk), was laid down at the Zelenodol'sk Zavod shipyard at Tatarstan in 1991. She was launched in July 1993, after which she began fitting out; fitting was nearly completed by late 1995, when it was suspended due to lack of funds. Renamed Tatarstan (No.691), the ship was finally completed in July 2002, and became the flagship of the Caspian Flotilla. She has two sister ships, Albatross (renamed Dagestan (No.693)), and Burevestnik (Storm Petrel), which was still under construction as of 2012. In October 2015, Dagestan, in company with three other Russian Navy ships serving with the Caspian Flotilla, launched cruise missiles at targets in Syria. The missiles flew nearly 1,500 kilometres (930 mi) over Iran and Iraq and struck targets in Raqqa and Aleppo provinces (controlled by the Islamic State) as well as Idlib province (controlled by the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front). Peshmerga forces (Kurdish armed forces located in northern Iraq) published a video allegedly depicting two cruise missiles mid-flight en route to Syria.
Export: The Gepard class was designed from the outset as a lightweight, inexpensive export vessel. The Russians have offered five variants for foreign sale. The Vietnam People's Navy received in March and August 2011 two Gepard 3.9-class frigates ordered in 2006, built in Russia at Tatarstan's Gorky Shipbuilding Plant. As of 2012 Vietnam was examining a purchase of two more, possibly built in Vietnam under license. In late 2011 Vietnam signed a contract for an additional batch of two ships in an anti-submarine version. A further two ships were ordered in 2014 to bring the total order up to six vessels. Sri Lanka began talks for the credit purchase of a Gepard 5.1 frigate in 2017 and the Sri Lankan cabinet approved the proposal by President Maithripala Sirisena for the purchase of the ship in September 2017.

Относятся к кораблям 2-го ранга. Корабли этого проекта строятся на Зеленодольском заводе имени А. М. Горького с 1990 года. Головной корабль — «Татарстан». На 2017 год построено два корабля для ВМФ России и продолжается строительство кораблей для ВМС Вьетнама. Корабли предназначены для выполнения комплекса задач: поиска и борьбы с подводными, надводными и воздушными целями, несения дозорной службы, проведения конвойных операций, а также охраны морской экономической зоны. Оснащён артиллерийским, противокорабельным, зенитным и противолодочным вооружением.
Боевое применение: В ходе военной операции России в Сирии, в ночь на 7 октября 2015 года, РК «Дагестан» произвёл пуски ракет «Калибр НК» из акватории Каспийского моря по заводам снарядов и взрывчатых устройств; командным пунктам; складам боеприпасов, вооружения и горюче-смазочных материалов, а также лагерю подготовки боевиков запрещённого в России Исламского государства. Боевые пуски произвели также ракетные корабли проекта 21631 «Великий Устюг», «Град Свияжск» и «Углич».

Video description: A corvette is a small warship with a powerful engine. It is the smallest class of vessel historically called a proper warship. The frigate is the warship class above the corvette, while the sloop-of-war was traditionally the class below. Coastal patrol craft, missile boats, and fast attack craft are examples of modern ships below a corvette. In today's words, a corvette is typically between 500 tons and 2,000 tons, although recent designs may approach 3,000 tons, which might instead be considered a small frigate. Many countries today operate corvettes; some include Argentina,Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, Germany, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Norway, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Malaysia, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates. Countries that border smaller seas, such as the Baltic Sea or the Persian Gulf, are more likely to build the smaller and more manoeuvrable corvettes, with Russia operating the most corvettes in the world. Grisha-class corvette
The Albatros class (Russian: Альбатрос; NATO reporting name: Grisha) was a series of anti-submarine corvettes built by the Soviet Union between 1970 and 1990. These ships had a limited range and were used only in coastal waters. They were equipped with a variety of ASW weapons and an SA-N-4 surface-to-air missile launcher. All were fitted with retractable fin stabilizers. Russian type designation was Malyy Protivolodochnyy Korabl (Small Anti-Submarine Ship).

Meet the new Corvette Z06!
It’s the hardcore, track-focused version of the regular C8 Corvette, and Mat’s about to find out just what’s changed over the standard car.
Starting with the design, there’s more than just some new badging to help the Z06 stand out from the regular C8. Up front there are some bigger air intakes (to help cool the bigger radiators) along with a larger, protruding splitter. Along the side the wheel arches stick out further to help house the larger & wider wheels, while there’s also extended side skirts and bigger air intakes. Then around the back, the twin tailpipes from the C8 have been brought together to make quad tailpipes in the centre of the car, and a gurney flap has also been added to the rear spoiler.
It’s a different story on the inside, though, with only a handful of changes to be found. The steering wheel now comes with Z06 badging, and it’s possible to upgrade it to include some carbon fibre. Some new figure-hugging sports seats have been added, and there are Z06 kick plates on either side… But that’s your lot! Otherwise, it’s the same as the regular C8.
But of course, the biggest change comes with the engine. Despite the Z06 having a smaller-sized engine than the C8 (with the 6.2-litre NA V8 swapping for a 5.5-litre NA V8), it has so much more power. You see, this is no regular V8… Chevrolet have taken a Ferrari 458 engine, reverse-engineered it, and given it 100hp more. As a result, the Z06 pumps out an eye-watering 670hp, making it the most powerful naturally-aspirated V8 in the world!!
The Z06 starts from around $100,000, which is around $40,000 more than the regular C8 Corvette. So is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
