Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Huan Wen's Northern Expeditions, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Yi Prefecture. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Yuwen Yidougui moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Yuwen Yidougui, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Hi thanks for creating this article. When we translate or borrow from other language wikis it’s a requirement to acknowledge the source. The best way to do this is to include it in your edit summary (e.g. “translated from zh.wiki”) and there’s also a translation template you can add to the talk page. Is this article based on the Chinese Wikipedia article?

Mccapra (talk) 22:41, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I have referred to the Chinese article as well as the Japanese article. I don't mind acknowleging both articles as my sources, although I wouldn't say that my article is based completely on either of them (i.e., different formatting, additional info, etc.) Zangxuangao (talk) 23:36, 31 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits at Xianbei and Xianbei state

[edit]

I have reverted your WP:BOLD merger of Xianbei and Xianbei state.

While I see that you suggested merging the articles on the talk page Talk:Xianbei eleven days ago, you did not follow the normal process of proposing a merger noted at WP:MERGE. Particularly, you did not tag the pages you were proposing to merge. Therefore, your actions were bold.

There are over 6.8 million articles on the English Wikipedia and only a small handful of active editors comparatively. Tagging articles draws other editors' attention towards proposed mergers which they couldn't otherwise be expected to just happen upon in order to express an opinion on the proposal.

If you still believe these articles should be merged, please follow the normal process for proposing a merging of articles.

Note that my reversion of your merger indicates that I contest your bold action. Therefore, the articles should now only be merged with community consensus. Adam Black talkcontribs 22:37, 28 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Xianbei state, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Adam Black talkcontribs 21:15, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Xianbei state was not appropriately tagged. You should have tagged both of the pages for merging. Please follow proper procedure when proposing mergers. Adam Black talkcontribs 21:20, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I had tagged the Xianbei state article with the {{merge to}} template, as evidenced by this edit on 29 May 2024. Was there something else I had to do? Zangxuangao (talk) 21:32, 5 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, my mistake. I see you removed the merge to tag earlier today before your edit creating a redirect. When I checked the diff, there was no tag on the page before you turned it into a redirect. I have reverted my changes and stricken the warning above. I should probably have more thoroughly checked the page history. I have hundreds of pages in my watchlist and your latest edit to Xianbei state was the first one I noticed. Information icon Hi Zangxuangao! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of an article several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 22:17, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm little bit confused on here: Hua Yi refused to take any orders Sima Rui, prompting the prince to send an army to defeat and kill him in 311. can you specify what era is it? Before common era or Anno Domini? Royiswariii Talk! 01:51, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is Anno Domini. A lot of articles about Chinese people from this time don't include the "AD" when mentioning the year, so I generally do that (BC is a different case, of course). Zangxuangao (talk) 02:05, 10 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
