Nomination for merger of Template:STN
[edit]Template:STN has been nominated for merging with Template:Station. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Thank you. Primefac (talk) 16:08, 6 December 2024 (UTC)
Between the stations of Winchburgh and Ratho, there was a very short lived railway station of Broxburn that is mentioned in the topography section of the article.
Would it be possible for you to add this closed station onto the RDT of that railway?

- @Xenophon Philosopher: Between Winchburgh and Bathgate, is it Winchburgh Tunnel – Broxburn Oil – Broxburn – Bathgate Junction, or Winchburgh Tunnel – Broxburn – Broxburn Oil – Bathgate Junction? Useddenim (talk) 03:24, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
- Yes it is the first of your two options, but I am not well versed enough to make the addition of the closed station at Broxburn on the RDT. Xenophon Philosopher (talk) 16:12, 10 December 2024 (UTC)
Hi. thanks for improving this template, but the last change makes little sense. The topology was more correct before (see with an actual map). GleisReis 19:22, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
- @GleisReis: The main problem I see with your arrangement of the diagram is at Buchs SG, where the line to St. Margrethen points directly 'opposite from St. Margrethen on the diagram. (And the corresponding connection from St. Margrethen to Buchs SG isn't much clearer as to where it actually goes.) Given that RDTs are diagrammatic representations and not geographically accurate maps, I feel that my revision shows a better representation.
The "border error" was a minor transcription that could have been easily fixed, and "direction of adjacent lines" is too vague to be of any use in improving the diagram.
I've created a revised version at {{Vorarlberg S-Bahn/sandbox}} that could be a reasonable compromise. Useddenim (talk) 21:07, 23 December 2024 (UTC)- @Useddenim: I mostly agree with you, but I think it helps reading the route map if it somewhat resembles the real topology of lines. I like your Option 2 better. I added Option 2.1, which is based on your Option 2 but includes connecting lines. GleisReis 08:49, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
- @GleisReis: Option 2.2 removes some unnecessary white space and tweaks a few icons. Useddenim (talk) 20:06, 24 December 2024 (UTC)
