copyvio?
[edit]This article is the same as this page: http://courses.wcupa.edu/fletcher/henley/bio.htm
from Robert Fletcher's site. There is no indication here that this was used with permission. Does anyone know about this?
Back in March, someone asked about a copyright violation. Do we have the rights to use this material? The original website, http://courses.wcupa.edu/fletcher/henley/bio.htm , still exists. Danny
Foot Amputation
[edit]I've heard that William Ernest Henley had a foot amputated; this is not mentioned anywhere in the article.
- Yes. 'Henley amputation' gives a number of good Google hits. It was as a result of TB, and can be added. Charles Matthews 08:21, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Henley was the inspiration for Stevenson's Long John Silver. This should be added...
Omission
[edit]Something has obviously been cut off at the beginning of the second paragraph.

"Consumption of the spine" is archaeic slang for syphilis, (consumption being TB) so i wonder if that's what his "tuberculosis of the bone" is referring to syphilis?
Is it worth including that the school that he attended as a child, The Crypt School Gloucester, has one of its four school houses named after him? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.239.226.186 (talk) 23:12, 3 December 2011 (UTC)
Queried Initial
[edit]I notice the infobox but nowhere else on the page his name is given as William Ernest L. Henley - what did L. stand for, if this is not a vandalism? If it stands for an actual name it should also be mentioned on the introductory line of text.Cloptonson (talk) 20:51, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
Article citation review beginning
[edit]I am beginning a citation review for this article, given the opening query regarding plagiarism, and the propensity of some WP editors to use the 1911 EB as an excuse not to give credit (in this case, to William Price James, the author of the 11th edition EB article), but also to hide other bits of unreferenced material in the broader swaths of EB material that is without inlines. I will affix an under construction tag. PLease be patient, this could take up to a week. Le Prof — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.239.87.100 (talk) 21:40, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
List of complete Chronological Works missing ?
[edit]Hey fellows. I'm French and I intend to complete the Complete Works in the Wikipédia.fr's article of Mr.William Ernest Henley. We have to complete the Henly's works, chronologically and properly. So let's go ! Because this section is not clearly made. - First, published works as alive writer, poet and critics - Two, posthumous works. - Three, Moderns editions. --Wilburo2691 (talk) 16:44, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
