Expenses scandal
[edit]The two aspects which were quoted about Jim Fitzpatrick are really nothing. Firstly, the London Supplement is paid at the same rate to all MPs representing inner London constituencies; it isn't "claimed" but paid automatically, so every MP that gets it gets the highest amount. Second, it has always been explicitly allowed to claim for the expenses of an accountant in preparing a tax return, which is all Jim Fitzpatrick did. To write that as "personal tax advice" implies some attempt to minimise tax liability which is not the case. In any case the linked story states clearly that Jim Fitzpatrick had correctly declared the amount paid for accountancy services as a taxable benefit in kind itself, which is as it should be - so the link does not justify including it as an accusation of scandal. 2010 election.
[edit]Having noted Orangemike's comments but being extremely keen to maintain NPOV on a contentious article, I've added a BBC reference.
This was a new constituency and the 2010 election saw a lot of boundary changes. The BBC estimated the votes for each constituency based on the wards it contained.
I think Fitzpatrick's move has caused editors some confusion.JRPG (talk) 09:39, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
Resignation
[edit]He appears to have resigned from the shadow cabinet. Should this be reflected in the article. [1]

- Hi Peter. Absolutely right to add it BUT ..you need a decent source and the Mirror really isn't good enough. Its particularly weak on neutral point of view. I try to stick to wp:Suggested sources for wp:blps. The Independent article here will do -and as you found it, please add it. Regards JRPG (talk) 15:12, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
