Is Densitometer only for optical density?
[edit]I suppose Densitometer is used for measuring the density of material. Though the article is mentioning only one usage, in film industry, they are used for non contact density measurements. Apart from optical method, Nuclear method also exists. Radiation densitometer are used for measuring density of both liquids and solids which undergo dynamic process. It has a radioactive source beaming through a process pipe/ area and to measuring system to measure the amount of transmitted radiation. J=Jo exp(ηρd) is used where Jo is the intensity penetration without material, η = absorption co-efficient d= thickness and ρ = density. wikieinstein (talk) 11:49, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Bone Densitometer is another instrument used in Medical field. This article needs to be re-written to include all these to make it complete wikieinstein (talk) 12:07, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
