Probably should add something about the Occidental and then Clear Creek running through town.
A list of former mayors and commissioners would be an easy task for someone in either government job
Long range we could include stuff about the carousel as well history of old high school -JJR —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.193.77.90 (talk) 23:11, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
Occidental Hotel
[edit]The Occidental Hotel is a restored 1910-era hotel, restaurant and bar located in historic downtown Buffalo. The original Occidental Hotel, made famous in Owen Wister's novel, The Virginian, was constructed in 1880.[1] The original log structure was severely damaged in floods in 1895 and 1912. In 1903, 1908 and 1910 the building received brick additions. After falling on hard times, restoration began in 1997.[2] The block-long hotel currently houses the hotel and saloon, the Virginian Restaurant, and the Busy Bee Cafe.[3]
