Rodin quote

[edit]

The article includes a description of Amiens Cathedral, attributed to Auguste Rodin but without citing a source, and apparently poorly translated from French. It reads "It's a lovely old woman, this Cathedral is a Virgin. ... Point of pain confusion, here, point of exaggeration or smell. It is absolutely empirical of supreme swelling." I find this absolutely incomprehensible. Can anyone verify the source and find an accurate translation? RolandR (talk) 23:50, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Style / tone of the article

[edit]

Hi all, I have added a WP:MOS banner to the article - not sure if this is the appropriate maintenance banner. I feel the article is often too similar to a travel guide or directory, often lacking sourcing and relying too much on the fr:wiki articles (hence the >200 interlanguage links!). There are also issues with weasel words / unnecessary descriptors or paraphrases that make the article harder to understand and is not in WP:WIKIVOICE. On a separate note, there are parts of the article which have excessive detail which creates a maintenance / update burden that is not being met (e.g., many of the sports clubs' status appear to not have been updated since 2015/2017, same as for the annual events calendar).
