Sonia Tullia Barbaro (born, September 10, 1989) is an Italian notary,[1] adjunct university professor, and author. She has published several scientific publications in the field of private law.[2]

Early life and education

Sonia Tullia Barbaro was born in Reggio Calabria on September 10, 1989. She graduated from the Università degli Studi Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria in 2013.[3] In 2017, she completed a Ph.D. in private law at the same university. She also attended the Scuola di Specializzazione in Diritto Civile at the Università di Camerino, earning her diploma in 2022. Between 2013 and 2015, she obtained a specialization diploma in civil and corporate law from the Notarial School of Campania. Since 2019, she has been practicing as a notary in Gioia Tauro.[4]

Barbaro's practice focuses on notarial deeds in civil, commercial, and inheritance law.[5] She is a member of the Notarial District of Palmi. Since 2024, she has been teaching at the "Giancarlo Laurini" National Notarial School.[6]

Academic career

Sonia Tullia Barbaro is currently an adjunct professor at the Università della Calabria, where she teaches Private Law of New Technologies.[7][8] She has held academic positions at other Italian institutions, including the Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II, where she was a lecturer in Private Law, and the Università Mediterranea di Reggio Calabria, where she taught Civil Law at the School of Specialization for Legal Professions.[9] Between 2022 and 2024, she also taught Private Law and Rights Protection at the Department of Business and Legal Sciences of the Università della Calabria.[10][11][12]

In 2018, she obtained the National Scientific Qualification for the role of associate professor of Private Law. Between 2022 and 2024, she was a member of the Public Law Studies Commission of the Consiglio Nazionale del Notariato. She is also an ordinary member of the Società Italiana degli Studiosi del Diritto Civile (SiSDIC).

She has collaborated on academic research projects, including the ninth edition of the Manuale di diritto civile and the fourth edition of Il diritto civile nella legalità costituzionale secondo il sistema italo-comunitario delle fonti, both edited by Pietro Perlingieri.[13][14]
