This train is named after Maveli, a king in Hindu mythology. It runs via the coastal railway route of Alleppey.

No. 16604 leaves Thiruvananthapuram Central at 07:35 PM and arrives at Mangalore Central at 07:45 AM the next day.

No. 16603 leaves Mangaluru Central at 05:50 PM and arrives Thiruvananthapuram Central at 06:00 AM the next day.
