† 2025 Big 12 tournament winner As of January 1, 2025 Rankings from AP poll |
The 2024–25 Utah Utes women's basketball team represented the University of Utah during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Utes, who were led by tenth year head coach Lynne Roberts through the first 4 games of the season before she left to take the Los Angeles Sparks head coaching job and associate head coach Gavin Petersen being named her replacement, play their home games at the Jon M. Huntsman Center and compete as first year members of the Big 12 Conference.
Previous season
[edit]The Utes finished the 2023–24 season 23–11, 11–7 in Pac-12 play to finish in a tied for fifth place. As the No. 6 seed in the Pac-12 tournament, they defeated Arizona State in the first round before losing in the quarterfinals to UCLA. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA women's tournament as a No. 5 seed in the Portland Region 4 where they defeated South Dakota State in the first round before losing in the second round to Gonzaga to end their season.
This was also the last season that Utah will play in the Pac-12 Conference before moving to the Big 12 Conference.[1]
On November 19, it was announced that Lynne Roberts has accept the position to be the head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks.[2]
