Meanwhile, in Dobrzyn, Hili is being zen:
Hili: Sometimes you just have to stop thinking.
A: It’s not always possible.
Hili: You have to train more.
Hili: Czasem trzeba po prostu przestać myśleć.
Ja Nie zawsze się daje.
Hili: Musisz więcej ćwiczyć.

The mathematician Hermann Minkowski died of appendicitis 126 years ago today. He taught Einstein (Minkowski was not impressed) and was Hilbert’s closest friend at Gottingen. A very great mathematician.

My dentist is named Minkowski, but so far I have successfully resisted asking her if she’s related to “the famous Minkowski”.
He definitely looks like he’s pondering something profound.
I’ve always suspected that a cat-to-human translator would mostly consist of “hummmmmm…”
Hardly seems worth it then.
The wonderful “Sylvia” cartoonist Nicole Hollander said that their language consists of two phrases: “Hurry that dinner, willya” and “Everything here is mine.”
I’m going to try and stop thinking for four years starting January 20th! Thanks for the advice, Hili!
