Work with us to split and shave three subtle legs from a green wood tree – using hand tools, and traditioanl techniques shape a sturdy folding stool and hand-stitch and rivet a seat, to carry with you where you go.

In the morning we’ll start by cleaving three legs from a recently felled tree (the species depends on what is windfallen or pruned at the time) then use a shavehorse and drawknife to shape them.

Later on we’ll cut a seat from reclaimed leather, or a vegan alternative, and use simple stitching and copper rivets to hold everything together.

Wonderful. Hard work, a handful of blisters but very rewarding! Martin was an excellent tutor, patient, knowledgable and helpful.
