Synopsis[]
Marcus has a crush, and Cog is completely unprepared for the hi-jinks that follow. Hopefully in their efforts to grow closer, they can brighten each other's day.

Marcus[]
Marcus is a transman and bisexual, who also appears in Sunshine Boy. Marcus is a student at Kingston Highschool with a laid-back and overall bright personality, having a knack for teasing and a cooking hobby as he takes home economics. He especially enjoys poking fun at his god-brother, Grey, and flirting (whether intentional or unintentional) with his crush/love interest, Cog. Marcus also seems to enjoy participating in arts-n-crafts type activities, as he is seen making origami and even a paper flower bouquet for Cog.
Marcus is an expressive, bubbly boy with brown skin and pink undertones. Both ears are slightly pointed at the top, as well as tiny silver hoop earrings. His hair is made up of medium-sized reddish chestnut locs, his bangs lightening in color and appearing dirty blond. Marcus' eyes are also a deep brown, typically appearing bright-eyed when talking to Cog. Both of his eyebrows also have slits in them. Marcus has been shown to have feline-like fangs, furthering the resemblances shown between him and Tiki Tiger (his favorite character out of a group named 'Sunshine Friends', most likely similar to the Sanrio Cast). Standing generally taller than his peers, and considerably taller in comparison to Grey or Cog, Marcus easily stands out and can get through crowds quite easily.
Although seeing Marcus in casual clothing isn't as common in 'Daybreak' as it is in 'Sunshine Boy' due to wearing a school uniform, it has been shown that Marcus especially cares for his appearance, as he is typically seen with hair jewelry and corresponding outfits that were picked out carefully (usually some variation of a sweater with jeans). Before Daybreak, Marcus was almost always seen wearing his hair down, but after Cog told him he looked pretty with his hair tied up in the first chapter, Marcus took that to heart and now wears his hair in a half-up ponytail always.

Trivia[]
- Though not shown in the story itself, Cog and Grey have met each other, as Marcus talks to both of them about the other often.
- Marcus and Cog typically are drawn using opposite colors for their color palettes; Marcus having warmer tones whereas Cog having cooler tones.
- Marcus was originally designed to be Grey's work manager, but Moosopp liked him more than anticipated and wanted him to play a bigger role. He used to be very anxious and couldn't handle pressure.
- Cog was always meant to be the 'smart one' in the group, but he used to have a huge ego and was extremely smug about his intelligence in his original design. Now, he is described as, "still a nerd, but more humble about it now. A hopeless romantic and an overthinker."
- The story began development way back in 2012, but it wasn't until 2020 Moosopp realized Cog and Marcus would make a good couple.
