Commonplace book

Commonplace books (or commonplaces) are a way to compile knowledge, usually by writing information into books. They have been kept from antiquity, and were kept particularly during the Renaissance and in the nineteenth century.

I'm trying to put more effort into writing things down, even things I don't think are worth writing down, because the amount of times I've realized it'd be useful once I've forgotten it. It's like the cables you keep forever and once you throw them out you end up needing them. With a blog, I don't have to worry about boxes everywhere getting in the way.
