Heather has had ten hairstyles, more than any other character in Total Drama, primarily as a result of her having her head shaved in I Triple Dog Dare You!. Half were actually wigs she wore to cover her head until her hair grew back enough, which it eventually does. Hilariously, whenever she receives a new wig, she is unable to keep them for long.
Total Drama Island (2007)[]
Initially, Heather's hair is about waist-length, which she would sometimes tie into a low ponytail. Per her vanity, Heather is very proud of her hair and refuses to do anything that gets it get wet or ruined. During the semi-finals of the first season, Heather's hair gets almost completely shaved off by accidentally kicking the razor out of Chef's hand and landing on her head due to Lindsay's dare, much to her anger and horror.
She manages to acquire a wig by the next episode that is similar to the wigs worn by Lindsay and Sadie during Phobia Factor, except it is longer, has no highlights, and is similar to the color of her hair. This wig does not appear to fit her well, as it falls off in all of its appearances, but wears it anyway. She also had the few patches of hair cut off, presumably to even out her hair growth. At one point, Izzy tries picking for fleas on the wig, much to Heather's annoyance. While trying to help Izzy to ensure Owen wins the challenge, Lindsay accidentally sets the electric fan she is holding backwards, causing Heather's wig to be blown off.
Total Drama Action[]
In the opening sequence, Heather and Leshawna fight on podiums while hitting each other with jousting sticks when Leshawna knocks her wig off and falls into a pot of soup Chef and DJ are about to serve.
In Monster Cash, Heather, while wearing the wig, gets into a fight with Gwen and falls down from the bus, causing her wig to fall off. While everyone waits for Chris, Heather wanted to leave, but changes her mind when Leshawna points out she can get plenty of hair weaves with the million dollar prize. After getting captured by the Chef-controlled monster, the wig gets stuck in the claws as she is dropped off at the bounce house, which she asks for it back.
In Alien Resurr-eggtion, much to Heather's horror, the wig falls through a steel grate after Heather is shot in the back with a paintball, and it is never seen again. She admits in the confessional that her hair has been growing patchy and unevenly because it was shaved off, so she has been trying different methods to get her hair to grow back quickly, such as lotions, lasers, and "traditional Burmese medicine from a loser shaman", but is unsuccessful. Heather sorely accepts the fact that she no longer has her wig and attempts to continue on throughout the season without it, being openly bald.
In One Million Bucks, B.C., Heather becomes desprate to have hair or at least cover her bald head. After Leshawna mocks her for being bald and upset that Lindsay has hair despite being responsible for her baldness, Heather decides to try to make herself a new wig by harvesting another girl's hair. Not satisfied with Leshawna's "gross weave" or Beth's "pathetic ponytail" and seeing herself being way too smart to be "Lindsay blonde", she decides to steal Courtney's hair, as she believes Courtney's hair is far prettier and more suited for her. Grabbing a pair of scissors from the confessional, she repeatedly tries to cut Courtney's hair without getting caught. However, she finds it much too difficult to take all her hair her without her noticing, only able to obtain a tuft while Courtney is in the confessional when she wasn't paying attention. She justifies her behavior that "[she's] not crazy,[she's] just bald". Meanwhile, after learning they will be dressing up for the challenge, she receives a long, red Flintstones-styled wig to match the prehistoric theme of the challenge, which smells like raw meat and attracts flies. She rejects Chris's offer to take it at first, but changes her mind when Chris said that she would look more "savage" without it. During the challenge, a giant loon attacks her and takes her new wig. Luckily for her, the loon later returns for its egg and she takes it as a chance to get her wig back. She viciously beats up the loon, dragging it away as she claims her prize from it. In the exclusive clip, Heather tries sticking the piece of Courtney's hair that she cut off on her tar-covered head. Immediately afterwards, a staff member, under orders from Chris to retrieved the hair back or Courtney will sue the show again, fights her over the tuft and takes it away from her. She puts her red wig back on and keeps it for the rest of the episode, as well as the next after noticing it doesn't fall off, mainly because of the tar. Instead of being annoyed, she is glad that she finally has "hair".
In Million Dollar Babies, Heather wears her wig until the end. However, she has experiences a few hiccups from wearing it; a shuttlecock gets stuck on it during the badminton challenge, Justin takes it from her while performing a slam dunk during the basketball challenge, and Leshawna playfully lifts it up from her head during the tie-breaker. After getting eliminated, she gives her wig to Leshawna as an act of friendship and spite, telling her she should wear it when "her hair looks as bad as it is today". In the exclusive clip, Heather is actually fine with being eliminated as she talks about her plan to get a hair weave to correct her "travesty" now that she has the time. However, she's fully aware that she can't afford good human hair extensions herself without the prize money to cover the expenses and predicting that her cheapskate father would likely only get her extensions made from pony hair, so she instead changes to stealing her mother's hair by cutting it off while she is asleep, mentioning "she always had nice volume".
In The Aftermath: III, Heather gets herself a third wig, a black afro. However, it is hinted that it is just a temporary wig, as Bridgette was quick to note how "nice" it was, much to Heather's visible displeasure. This is confirmed in Mutiny on the Soundstage and The Aftermath: IV, when she is not wearing it.
As of Celebrity Manhunt's Total Drama Action Reunion Special, Heather's hair has partially grown back, and she now wears it in a short high ponytail. She is also seen, at one point, wearing a fourth wig that is similar to Gwen's hair style, likely only worn to mock and embarrass Gwen via her blog. Also, when Heather is shown in her room, there are seven blueish-black wigs in different styles (ranging from pixie cut, pigtails, hime cut, beehive, braided twin buns, and high ponytail) that can be seen on the background on top of her bookshelf, dresser, and her bed.
Total Drama World Tour[]
In Walk Like An Egyptian-Part 1, it is revealed that Heather got her wish and now has hair extensions. After knocking into her, Gwen jokes about it, saying her ponytail is made of pony hair but Heather retorts by saying that her extensions are human hair.
In Planes, Trains, and Hot Air Mobiles, after Sierra accidentally blew up the plane and goes bald as a result, Heather shows sympathy towards her, saying that no girl should have to go bald on national television, while making sure her hair (and extensions) are sturdy. She then finds her a ceremonial headdress to cover her baldness with. In the confessional, Alejandro accidentally mentions Heather's hair tucked behind her "cute little ear lobes," only to smack himself for that slip of the tongue.
Total Drama: Revenge of the Island[]
By the start of the fourth season, Heather's hair has finally grown back to its original length, like in Total Drama Island (2007).
Total Drama All-Stars[]
Throughout season five, Heather has her hair in the long low ponytail that she wore occasionally in Total Drama Island (2007).
In Evil Dread, Alejandro mentions that he loves her glossy locks and "the way the hair on her upper lip catches the light when she yells at [him]" in the confessional while listing off the attributes that he loves about her.
Trivia[]
- Heather losing her hair is the start of the running gag which people going bald.
- Throughout Total Drama Island, Heather has a flat head, even after she had been shaved. However, beginning in Total Drama, Drama, Drama, Drama Island, her head is round, most likely an upgrade to her design to make her head look more realistic. This new design remains throughout Total Drama Action until Celebrity Manhunt's Total Drama Action Reunion Special, where it is flat again, most likely because Heather's hair grew back and thus, the round head was not needed anymore.
- Her hair is one of Alejandro's favorite attributes about her.
- In Cartoon Network's Best. Game. Ever., if the player makes an alliance with Heather, the first reward they will get is the first wig Heather ever wore after having her head shaved.
- It is unknown how she still has her wig, as she lost it in Alien Resurr-eggtion, and appears bald from that point on.
- Also, in the Best. Game. Ever., it is possible to gain Heather's fourth wig if the player allies themselves with Gwen.
- The reason why she was completely bald in Total Drama Action was because when the accident occurred, she was left with a few patches and Heather stated her hair was growing patchy and unevenly because of this. That could be due to the fact she got rid of the patches later, so her hair not only wouldn't grow unevenly, but also takes a longer time to regrow.
- According to the her Total Drama World Tour biography, Leshawna's craziest dream was when Heather became prom queen but a sumo wrestler (her worst fear) was on her ponytail and pulled her wig off.
- Heather's third wig is an afro. Ironically, Heather frequently makes fun of Leshawna's hair whenever it puffs up into an afro.
- Heather's decision to get hair extensions via hair weave is rather ironic when she previously mocks Leshawna's weave.
- It seems that whenever Heather has a new wig in the series, the time it's seen shortens. Heather had her first black wig for three episodes (if one doesn't count its brief appearance in Riot On Set), she had her red cave-woman wig for two episodes, she had her afro wig for one episode, she had her Gwen wig for only a few seconds.
- There were several goofs with Heather having her original hair while she is supposed to be bald, wearing a wig or having her ponytail in Total Drama Action:
- In the Total Drama Action Promotional Picture.
- In Monster Cash, the goof appears several times:
- When she steps off the bus and bumps into Gwen, her wig has highlights in it, like her regular hair, even though it is normally seen without these.
- When Chef is chasing the raccoon outside of the craft services tent.
- In the brief shot when Trent throws her out of his way when he is trying to get out of the trailer.
- When everyone is sleeping in the bounce house, though it changes back to her wig when she wakes up.
- During the eating challenge, when the screen goes from Owen to Chef Hatchet to the other cast members.
- In Alien Resurr-eggtion, when Heather is running from Chef, her wig has highlights in it again.
- In Riot on Set, her wig is hanging on the bunk bed when she had already lost it.
- In Beth's ending of The Aftermath: IV, when all of the contestants crowd around an unconscious Beth.
- In Celebrity Manhunt's Total Drama Action Reunion Special while the contestants are waiting outside the Awards show.
