Hey, I’m Tommi.
At times you may cross paths with me on planet Earth, but usually I hang out in a parallel dimension, ruled by curiosity and overwhelming enthusiasm, but also scattered with anxiety and confusion. The essence of my being is Tomminess.

I am always eager to meet new people, in particular when a virtual contact becomes an appointment in person. Currently I am based in Riva Ligure/Sanremo (Italy), don’t hesitate to schedule a meeting if you are around, or even virtually!

In 2021 I deleted all my profiles on mainstream centralized social media platforms—with the exception of Linkedin (I need it for work).
At the time I could not find any unique resource cataloguing all the reasons mainstream social media are terrible. Therefore, I created a website myself, explaining all the reasons why to quit social media, along with reliable informative material.
I created 🪡 Knitting Our Internet 🧶, an interactive workshop travelling through the history of the Internet, and proposing a collective re-imagining of participatory, decentralised alternatives.
This experience aims at questioning the very essence of today’s social networks, exposing the critical limits given by centralization, monopoly, and surveillance capitalism.

There’s stuff I find out I wish I knew before, or stuff I just can’t keep from sharing but it’s not enough to make an article, or resources so great and useful that the whole world should know and use, or cool oddities I note and it’s nice to have them always ready at hand.
