"Over almost a decade, Sweden based Icelander EVA808 has specialised in beats that, though ultra finessed, are recognisably built on dubstep and grime frameworks and sonorities. Her second album, however, shakes all that out. There are beats, as on the gloopy "Hlaupbangsi (SOPHIE tribute)" or the sluggishly insinuating krautrock-post-punk-breakbeat threat "Better Than Me". But they're always folded into the textures, and there's also a whole lot of stone, sea, string and brass sections that can't help but evoking compatriots Hildur GuÃ°nadÃ³ttir and the late JÃ³hann JÃ³hannsson. Taken as a whole its an extraordinary journey, culminating in the overwhelming euphoria of bass roar and tinkling chimes in "Fuglar FljÃºga" that will leave you breathless and reeling" - Joe Muggs, The Wire Magazine.
