Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani appointed to key roles in Arab Women Investors Union

Doha: The Arab Women Investors Union has announced the appointment of Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, President of the Qatari Businesswomen Forum and a member of the Qatar Chamber Board of Directors, as a member of the Unions Board of Trustees and a consultant to its Supreme Trade Committee. The announcement was made during the Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit, held under the theme "Economic Links, Tourism, Industry, Agriculture, and Comprehensive Sustainable Development." The five-day summit, organized by the Arab Women Investors Union in Egypt, brought together delegations from 35 Arab and African countries. The event also featured an elite group of business leaders, investors, and representatives from civil society organizations, associations, unions, and business councils. Speaking at the summit, Al Ahmadani underscored the importance of strengthening trade relations between Arab and African countries to expand investment ties. She highlighted the need to identify and develop areas of strength and excellence to bolster economic growth. During a session focused on investment and inter-trade, Al Ahmadani emphasized that empowering women and supporting productive families are key strategies for driving sustainable economic growth. She noted that equipping women with the tools for success, fostering a supportive environment, and providing necessary resources can lead to significant economic advancements. Al Ahmadani also urged governments and civil society organizations to create an ecosystem that encourages innovation and supports small, medium, and micro enterprises. She stressed the importance of women and men working together to build a robust and sustainable knowledge-based economy.

Amir's visit to Ankara garners interest of Turkish Media

Ankara: Turkish media, across its various platforms, dedicated extensive coverage to the visit of HH the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Ankara. His Highness chaired, alongside, President of the Republic of Turkiye HE Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the 10th session of the Qatar-Turkiye High Strategic Committee. The visit received significant attention in Turkish media's main stories on Friday. The daily newspaper Yeni Safak, known for its proximity to the Turkish government, featured a prominent headline in its edition today that highlighted the tweet by His Highness on his official X account following the conclusion of the committee's meeting, emphasizing that the visit would pave the way for further bilateral cooperation in various fields. It highlighted Turkiye's strong interest in the visit of His Highness the Amir to Ankara, describing it as marking a significant new phase in the bilateral relationship. The Turkish press also noted the remarkable development of Qatar-Turkiye relations over the past two decades, covering various fields, including economic, political, and military cooperation. Over 300 rare stamps, coins auctioned at Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center's annual auction

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center held its annual auction on Friday, showcasing a diverse array of rare collectibles at its headquarters. The auction featured 323 items, including stamps, coins, envelopes, albums, first editions, and commemorative stamp collections. Highlights included thematic books on wildlife and purebred Arabian horses, with contributions spanning various countries worldwide. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Centers Director, Hussein Rajab Al Ismail, noted that this years auction stood out for its diversity in both the range of items and the participation of collectors from Gulf countries and across the Arab world. Al Ismail highlighted the popularity of Qatari stamps and coins, which were in high demand during the auction. He also emphasized the Centers ongoing efforts in documenting Qatar's philatelic history, with the successful release of its first book chronicling the history and features of Qatari stamps. Two additional books are currently under preparation, as part of the Centers plan to publish five books annually that document the history, types, and features of stamps and currencies. This years auction is part of the Centers broader calendar of 27 events for 2024, encompassing local and international exhibitions, collaborations with state institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, Katara, and Qatar Post, and engagements with major shopping centers. Al Ismail added that the Center will participate in the Sharjah Stamps and Coins Exhibition next week and the Stamps and Coins Exhibition in Shanghai, China, later this month. The Shanghai event will coincide with meetings of the Executive Committee of the Asian Philatelic Federation, in which Qatar holds membership. The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center remains committed to fostering and promoting the hobby of stamp and coin collecting, advancing its development, and creating opportunities for enthusiasts to engage with the field.
