The Remarried Empress Wiki

Rashta is the supporting antagonist in the Remarried Empress series. She was a former slave of Viscount Lotteshu Rimwell and the concubine of Emperor Sovieshu. Following his divorce with Navier Trovi, Rashta married Sovieshu and she became the current Empress of the Eastern Empire. This soon changed and her title of Empress was stripped away.

History

Prior to the series, Rashta was sold into slavery by her father, who did so to save himself from atoning for his own crimes. She belonged to the Rimwell Estate where she met and fell in love with the heir, Alan Rimwell. She eventually became pregnant with his child, which greatly angered her owner, Viscount Lotteshu. In order to keep her in check, Viscount Lotteshu pretended to have her newborn son, Ian, killed after birth. She was told that her child had died, received a dead baby to hold, and did not get the chance to meet Ian.

A few months later, Rashta decided to run away from the Rimwell Estate and asked Alan to go with her, but he refused out of fear of losing his inheritance, so she left on her own. Unbeknownst to them, she had become pregnant with their second child prior to running away. While running in the forest, she got injured in a hunting trap set by Emperor Sovieshu's men and was transferred to the palace, where she was properly healed. Emperor Sovieshu had taken a liking to her and quickly made her his mistress.

Personality

Rashta appears to be naive, questioning much of the things around her and talking in third person in a way that seemingly makes her 'cute'. Her demeanor consistently remind Sovieshu of Navier when she was younger, highlighting childishness. In reality, however, this innocent act of Rashta is just that, an act. She is a manipulative and deceitful woman who enjoys luxuries and takes pleasure in praises. The only time she is genuinely affectionate is where her children or Ergi Claude are concerned.

Unfortunately for her, Rashta is too suspicious of others and tends to jump to conclusions, acting rashly on her emotions rather than logic. She is very vindictive when she feels that she has been wronged or is called out for her behavior. Furthermore, Rashta does not hesitate to blame other people for her mistakes and "awards" extremely cruel punishments to those she considers traitors or a threat, even if they are willing to help her. For example, she claimed she had a gossiping maid's imprisoned father executed, resulting in said maid hitting her with a chair.

Additionally, Rashta is a hypocrite as she shamed "femme fatales" like Nian Tuania for things she has also done without shame. Despite being born a commoner and having been a former slave, Rashta declared that she hated both groups of people too.

Physical appearance

Rashta is described as a beautiful wildflower having a very beautiful and innocent angel-like appearance with moonlight skin, wavy knee-length silver hair, black eyes, she has a slender, petite figure, her hands are scarred from working back when she was a slave and she later gets another scar on the left side of her forehead after being hit with a chair thrown by an enraged maid to which Rashta had to give herself bangs to cover it up.

She initially wore simple gowns, that were usually white or light blue that emphasized her beauty, but as the series goes on, she begins to dress in more tacky outfits due to her desire to fit and maintain the image of Empress, particularly to try and imitate Former Empress Navier.

Relationships

Love Interests

  • Sovieshu: Rashta's husband and lover. They met when she was running away from the Rimwell Estate and got stuck in one of Sovieshu's hunting traps injuring her leg. Initially struck by her beauty and "childlike innocence", he was blind to her faults and went to extreme lengths to defend her, alienating Navier in the process. However, Rashta refrains from truly opening up to him and doesn't fully trust him. He eventually realizes Rashta's deceitful nature and begins to distance himself from her. However, he was elated to learn that she got pregnant and divorced Navier so that Rashta can temporarily become his empress and her child could be the successor to his throne. Despite knowing his intentions, Rashta was convinced she would remain his empress and would happily live with him and Glorym in the palace. It soon becomes clear that while Rashta wholeheartedly loved Sovieshu, he did not feel as strongly about her and instead yearned for Navier. Their relationship turns completely negative after Sovieshu and Rashta take a birth test with the baby, and he discovers that he was not the father of the child.
  • Alan Rimwell (previous): The son of Rashta's former owner, and her previous lover. He appears to deeply regret not leaving with Rashta and still carries feelings for her. When Alan and Rashta happen to spot each other at her baby shower, he seems to be saddened by the news that Emperor Sovieshu was Rashta’s lover. He tries several times to get her to see her son, though she refuses and only sees him as someone who betrayed her and broke her heart.
  • Ergi Claude (previous): Rashta's only "friend" during the series. Ergi met her upon arriving at the palace. They spent time together for a whole day, even getting involved in an incident with a nobleman who had asked Ergi if he knew Rashta was a slave, with Ergi punching him as a response. He appears the only person she feels she can open up to the in the palace, telling him secrets of hers that she doesn't even tell Sovieshu. While Rashta strongly trusts Ergi and genuinely thinks he is her friend, the sentiment is not reciprocated at all and it was all to just trick her so he and Heinrey can benefit from it. Despite lending a lot of money to Rashta so she can pay her blackmailer, Viscount Lotteshu, once she got the title of Empress, Ergi demanded it with interest in the form of a port in a strategic position, a request she eventually accepted after he promised to become her secret concubine. Their relationship would decline significantly during the events of the parentage test, when Ergi appeared with her son Ian and helped expose her crimes to the kingdom, showing he never was loyal to her.

Family

  • Ian: Rashta's eldest son with Alan. While pregnant with him, she loved her child very much and wished to see him. She was devastated when she thought he had been killed by Viscount Lotteshu and ran away. She would never see Ian, who was in fact still alive. However, once she discovered the truth, she made no attempt to see her son and did her best to ensure no one would find out about him, as she believed his existence would compromise her newfound status as the Emperor's concubine. She only assisted Viscount Lotteshu under the promise he and his family would keep Ian, among other secrets, hidden.

  • Glorym: Glorym is Rashta's daughter who was initially thought to be Sovieshu's daughter and became the Crown Princess of the Eastern Empire. However, it came to light that Glorym is not Sovieshu's daughter and is actually Alan's. Rashta was unaware that she was pregnant again when she escaped the Lotteshu Estate, after being stabbed by a Viscount the doctor checked her and announced that she was pregnant. Glorym was wholeheartedly believed to be Sovieshu's. After her birth, Glorym is kept away from her mother and primarily taken care of by Verdi and Sovieshu, particularly after Rashta throws the baby onto the floor.

Enemies

  • Lotteshu Rimwell: Rashta's former slaver who instilled a paranoia into her. He holds great disdain for her, most likely due to her being his son's former lover and the mother of his only grandson (and thus, heir) despite her being a (former) slave. Their relationship is especially hostile, with him displaying an extremely superiority complex towards her due to her heritage as the daughter of criminals. His cruelty towards her is ultimately what lead to her running away after he faked the death of her baby. After she became Sovieshu's concubine and empress, she met Lotteshu during a ball, resulting in him blackmailing her into paying him for not revealing her past and working together. This would eventually lead to his downfall later on, as he ends up being convicted at the trial alongside her.
  • Lebetti Rimwell: The daughter of Rashta's former owner who despises her and used to harass her. She didn't like Rashta being with her brother, and seemingly despised that her brother was in turn in love with Rashta, joining her father in harassing her during her time at the Rimwell Estate. Lebetti firmly believes that Rashta had used Alan as a way to climb the social ladder, but it is unknown whether this is true, or a belief stemming from her father's classist views. Their relationship is mutually hostile in the series. While Rashta makes mostly harmless pranks on Lebetti, like copying her dress for the ball and accuses her of doing it, Lebetti's attempts to seduce Sovieshu for revenge eventually leads her to planning outright murder.
