Use commands in Microsoft Teams
Commands are keyboard shortcuts for performing common tasks in Teams. Use them to quickly manage conversations, update your status, add details to your messages, and join or leave meetings.
To use a command:
-
In the Search box at the top of Teams, type /. From the list, select a command and press Enter.
Or
-
In the Compose box where you write messages in chats or meetings, type /. From the list, select a command, and then press Enter or Tab on your keyboard.
Tip: You can also press Alt+K (Windows) or Option+K (Mac) to open the command list.
Commands are available to everyone using Teams. However, you might see additional commands depending on your environment. Also, if a certain command isn't working, your organization might have disabled a feature that's critical to the command. For example, if chat is disabled for your company, chat-based commands won't work. The following is a table of commands you'll find in both the Search and Compose boxes.
