Block channels on YouTube

You can block someone’s channel if you no longer want to see their messages on live chat or receive their mentions. The channel you blocked will no longer see your messages on live chat or receive your mentions.

Note: Any viewer or creator can block someone to stop seeing their messages on live chat or stop receiving their mentions. Creators and moderators can hide viewers from their channel in YouTube Studio, from a comment a viewer left, or by moderating live chat.

Block someone on live chat

You need to be signed in to the YouTube app to block people during a live chat.

  1. During a live, tap the message of the viewer you want to block.
  2. Tap Block from the pop-up message.

Block someone from a mention notification

  1. Sign in to the YouTube app.
  2. In the top right corner of the Home screen, tap Notifications .
  3. Tap Mentions.
  4. Next to the mention notification of the person you want to block, tap More More.
  5. Tap Block this user.
  6. A pop-up will appear, tap Block.

Unblock someone

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com/blocklist.
  2. Tap next to the person you want to unblock.
