The Autoplay feature on YouTube makes it easier to decide what to watch next. When Autoplay is on, another related video will automatically play after a video ends.
How to Autoplay Videos on YouTube

Keep in mind:
- For users aged 13-17 on YouTube, Autoplay is turned off by default. If you're 18 or over, Autoplay is turned on by default.
- If you are using a supervised account, you may not have the option to turn on/off Autoplay if your parent has turned off Autoplay for you. Learn more about parental controls for supervised accounts.
- You can have different Autoplay settings for different devices. For example, you can set Autoplay to be "On" in the YouTube app on your mobile device, but set it to "Off" when watching YouTube on your computer.
- If you're connected to a mobile network, Autoplay will stop automatically if you've been inactive for 30 minutes. If you are on Wi-Fi, Autoplay will stop automatically after 4 hours.
Autoplay on your mobile device or tablet
At the end of a video, the video player will show whatâs going to play next. If you scroll past the video player or type something, like a comment or a search, the next video won't automatically play.
Turn Autoplay on or off on a video
- Go to the watch screen of any video.
- At the top of the video player, tap the Autoplay switch to set it to On or Off .

- Tap your profile picture.
- Tap settings .
- Tap Autoplay.
- Switch autoplay on or off.
Tip: If Autoplay is on but you want to stop the next video from playing, tap Cancel at the end of a video.
Autoplay on your computer
At the end of a video, the video player will show whatâs going to play next. If you scroll past the video player or type something, like a comment or a search, the next video won't automatically play.

- Go to the watch screen of any video.
- At the bottom of the video player, click the Autoplay switch to set it to On or Off .
Tip: If Autoplay is on but you want to stop the next video from playing, tap Cancel at the end of a video.
Autoplay on your smart TV or game console
Autoplay on the YouTube app on your TV
To change your Autoplay settings on the YouTube app on your TV:
- Open the YouTube app on your TV.
- Go to Settings .
- Scroll to Autoplay.
- Select the options to turn Autoplay On or Off.
Autoplay while casting to your TV
If youâve connected your TV to your phone or tablet, you can use your device to control Autoplay.
- Connect your mobile device to your TV device and pick a video to play.
- To expand your queue and view your Autoplay settings, tap the control bar at the bottom of the screen.
- Use the switch to turn Autoplay off.
Autoplay on your Google Assistant Smart Displays
Turn Autoplay on or off
If you're using YouTube on your Smart Display and want to turn Autoplay on or off:
- Open the Home App on your mobile device.
- Tap the Smart Display you would like to modify.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Notifications & digital wellbeing.
- Tap YouTube Settings.
- There are two ways you can control Autoplay settings for your Smart Display:
- If you're voice-matched, Autoplay can be turned on or off for you, and
- Autoplay can be turned on or off for all other users.
