You can customize the layout of your YouTube channel so that viewers can view your channel trailer, featured video, featured sections, including âFor you,â and "Top community clips" sections when they get to your channel "Home tab."
Manage the âHome tabâ
You can highlight and showcase content for your audience when you turn on the âHome tabâ on your channel.
Turn the "Home tab" on or off
YouTube Studio
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Customization Home tab.
- Next to the "Home tab," turn on or off the toggle bar.
YouTube Studio app
- Open the YouTube Studio app .
- Tap your profile picture Edit .
- Tap Home tab.
- Next to "Home tab," toggle the bar on or off.
Create a channel trailer for people who haven't subscribed
Your channel trailer offers a preview of your channel so viewers can learn more and subscribe. By default, ads won't show on your channel trailer, unless your video contains third-party claimed content.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Customization Home tab.
- Under "Layout", click ADD section Channel trailer.
- Then select a video for your channel trailer.
- Click Publish.
Featured video for returning subscribers
You can highlight your video or any video on YouTube for returning subscribers to watch when they go to your channel Home tab.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Customization Home tab.
- Under "Layout", click ADD section Spotlight.
- Then select a video to feature.
- Click Publish.
Featured sections
You can customize the layout of your channel Home tab with up to 12 custom sections. Your layout will default to display 4 pre-populated sections: Short videos, Uploads, Created playlists, and Subscriptions you've made public.
Create a section
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Customization Home tab.
- Under "Layout", click ADD section.
- Scroll to select your content.
- For you: Choose to recommend content to your viewers based on their interests.
- Videos: Choose to highlight your videos, Shorts, and live streams.
- Playlists: Choose to highlight single, created, and multiple playlists.
- Memberships: Channels with memberships turned on can choose to highlight members-only videos and more.
- Channels: Choose to highlight subscriptions and featured channels.
- Top community clips: Choose to display top clips of your videos on your channel Home tab.
- Click Publish.
Edit a section
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Customization Home tab.
- Hover over the section you want to edit and click Options .
- In the edit screen, change the content of the section.
- Click Publish.
Reorder sections on your channel
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Customization Home tab.
- Click and hold the vertical bar on the section you want to move, then drag-and-drop to reorder.
- Click Publish.
"For you" section
The âFor youâ section gives your audience a tailored experience when visiting your channel Home tab. This section surfaces a mix of personalized content based on what the individual viewer has watched. You can choose what types of content to show and select to show only content posted within the last 12 months.
Manage the âFor youâ section
YouTube Studio
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Customization Home tab.
- To add the section: Under "Layout", click ADD section For you.
- To edit the section: From the "For you" section, click More settings. Select which content types to show and if you only want to show posts from the last 12 months.
- To remove the section: From the "For you" section, click the 3 dot menu Remove section.
- Click Publish.
YouTube Studio app
- Open the YouTube Studio app .
- Tap your profile picture Edit .
- To add or remove section: Tap Home tab and turn on or off the âFor youâ toggle bar.
- To edit the section: Tap More Settings. Select the content types you want to show. You can choose to show all your content or content that was posted within the last 12 months.
"Top community clips" section
You can display top clips of your videos on your channel Home tab. These clips could be made by you or your viewers. Once added to your Home tab, the clips are publicly visible and organized by popularity and how recently it was uploaded. Learn how to manage the "Top community clips "section.
