What’s new in Google Wallet

Quick access to your items

Use your phone or smartwatch to tap to pay in stores, board a plane, ride transit, attend an event, use your loyalty card at your favorite merchants, or start your car.

Add new items quickly

 To add a new card or pass, tap the Add to Wallet on the home screen. On websites and apps with an “Add to Google Wallet” or “Add to Google Pay,” you can save items to Google Wallet as well.

Find items you’ve saved faster

To help you find and use passes, Google Wallet has a simple layout with larger text.

Review recent payment activity

American Express only (US): For a full history of transactions and details, check your bank statements or go to the American Express app.

  1. Tap on a payment card.
  2. At the top right, tap Transaction details .

An updated menu with new features

You can switch Google Accounts, get tips for Google Wallet, access app settings and more. To access the menu, at the top right of the home screen, tap your Profile picture .

 To reorder your debit and credit cards, swipe to your last card and tap Edit card order .To reorder passes, touch and hold and drag them up or down.

Do I need to download the Google Wallet app?

If the Google Wallet app isn’t pre-installed on your phone, you must download the Google Wallet app.

Can I use Google Wallet to tap to pay?

Yes. Anywhere that you find Google Pay or contactless payment logos, you can make contactless payments with a supported form of payment that you stored in Google Wallet. Learn how to:

Do I need to add my payment methods or passes again?
No. Forms of payment, passes, tickets, or other items you added to Google Pay will remain in Google Wallet.
What if I get a new phone?

If you transfer over the Google Wallet app to a new phone, your cards and passes should transfer to your new phone, but you must:

Is Google Wallet available in my country or region?

Google Wallet is available in over 50 countries and regions. If your country or region is not listed, check back as Google Wallet will expand to new places soon.

Why aren't my Google Pay cards in Wallet? (Japan only)

Under rare circumstances, your cards may not be transferred from Google Pay to Google Wallet. To recover your cards and balance, try to add the cards again or restart the device. If the cards still don't display in Wallet, contact support.
