Control visual timing with object tracks

Each item (text, shape, line, image, GIF, sticker, or video) on a scene’s canvas in Vids has its own object track in the timeline at the bottom of the Vids window. The object track allows you to customize when an item enters and leaves the scene.

View & customize timing using object tracks

To view and customize object tracks for your video:

  1. On your computer, open a video in Google Vids.
  2. To view all object tracks in a scene click Show timing  above the timeline.
  3. Optional: To show timing for selected objects, next to Show timing , click Timing menu  and then  Show timing for selected.
    • To view multiple tracks at once, press Shift and click on the objects you want to select or drag your cursor across them to multiselect.
  4. To shorten or lengthen the timing of objects, hover your mouse over the left or right edge of the object track and then when the blue handle appears, click and drag to adjust the duration.
  5. To change when an object appears in the scene, click and drag the object track left or right.
    • Tip: This will only work if the object track is shorter than the scene.
  6. To close this view, click Hide timing .
